You can already buy (some) rodstands that have a bite alarm installed from the main shop. The alarm (beeping and lights) will tell you when a fish is biting on your floating bait .

The item description will tell you if it has bells or not.

When you select a rodstand in the shop a picture of it will appear to the right. Under the picture will be the details. If it has Bite Alarm : Yes then it has this function.

Any idea if these stands have had the bugs ironed out? Are the alarms dependable?

Mine's been working fine in the Netherlands. The alarms work well, though the beeping can be a bit grating while trying to land multiple fish at the same time.

i wish i could turn the alarms down or off without turning all sounds off becouse my wife dont mind the nature sounds and the drag noise but she goes mad at me about the alarm noise lol :( and shes not ready to be a "simulation fishermans widow " lolo

Lol yeah, a volume setting for the alarm would be nice.

Those concerns give me pause...i seem to do just fine watching my lines without any alarms at all...

Not to mention that the constant sound would definitely send my wife for the knife drawer...

Well, there's plenty of stands without alarms on them. I actually had to pay top dollar to get one that came with an alarm. The sound can be annoying, but I'm often watching TV while I play, so I think it comes in handy. As far as the wife goes, she pretty much gets annoyed if she can hear my game at all, so I'm already used to keeping the volume low.

when you use your rodstand, will it ping there also?

If you mean the bells that you can attach to your rod, then yes. They still work while attached to your rod stand.
