Say for instance you can cast 250 feet with your rod/reel/line combo but due to the size of the location your fishing at or because of where your target area is you only want to cast 140 feet.
You make a cast and when you have your terminal tackle in the target range you want to use on future casts press C and that sets the clip. Future casts you make no matter how high you let the meter go will be limited to that maximum range until you press C again and remove the clip.
Cast out, clip the line, put the rod down, the fish bites and starts to run and if I didn't pick the rod up in time it broke my leader even on zero drag. Happened if the fish run and when I set the hook and put the rod down.
Seems ok now. Cool :)
