Fish Tiredness?
When reeling in a fish it puts up a good fight but does it start to get tired? And less of a struggle to be able to eventually reel it in?

I battled with this 2kg Brownfin for 5 minutes it dragged my line out from 32m to 54m it then gave up and let me reel it in! It know it was all over and it was coming into die. I got my beast.

I've had times that the fish never got tired. I have battled fish for around 20 minutes real life time and just gave up a broke the line. I suspect there might be something going on to make you buy better gear. Other times the fish takes all the line of reel.

At Alaska when fishing in a kayak, I've had a lot of times where the fish is 30-50 feet from the boat and I cannot get it any closer unless I pump the rod up and down. Maybe a glitch?

But yeah sometimes I can have some fun battles with fish. For me mostly bass at Neherin when I was lower level, and more recently with Salmon.

There is NO kayak fishing at Alaska location. This statement makes your post totally irrelevant.

Since when has there been NO kayak fishing at Alaska , ive caught loads there and all from a kayak
I find that if a fish is fighting really strong and just keeps taking your line its best to stop reeling and keep the line tight , pause for a bit then try reeling in some more , rinse and repeat and i guarentee u will land that fish , ive landed lots of fish that weigh double the size that line can take using this method with no problem , can take a while though , half hour to land a big pike or trout is actually quite relistic

I think he's talking about Alberta. I've had similar experiences. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not, fighting big fish in deep water is usually more difficult in reality. It gives them a lot more room to play with, down where you have less control over them.

I fought a laker on super light gear the other day for half an hour. I started with my reel at about 30% and I managed to pull it in when the reel was down to 2%. Totally worth it. For a while though, it was hugging the bottom and my rod just didn't have enough power to get it off.

The reason I'm not sure it's a bug is cause it's not an unsolvable problem. It seems to only happen to me when I'm using gear that's close to the weight of the fish or lighter. So, like Satanist said, you have to lift the rod a little and drop it and reel before the fish can take the line back. Once again, similar to how you might try to fight a big fish up away from the bottom. I think if it was a glitch, the fish would be either immoble, or it would eventually 'wake up' and take off again. I've always interepreted it as the fish getting too tired to run away, but not tired enough for my rod to pull straight in.

I wish there was kayak fishing at the Alaska location.
Not complaining

It would be nice to see kayak use extended. Hopefully the new maps will have several. I love my kayak, I'd use it on Lone Star if I could.

So they do or dont get tired?
Some of these fat cat fish with my set up are seeming impossible to pull
Maj.Tryhard Aug 14, 2018 @ 12:46pm
Seems like it. How far out are they becoming "impossible to pull?"

And have you tried inching them up? Small lift, short reel, gain a foot or two at a time, ideally.

some fishes they do tired, and some not,

anytime i ever caught a fish that was a lot bigger than my equipment setup, it was because it turned around and ran straight at me. i've had fish where i spent 2 or 3 hours in real time fighting and the only time i ever got them close to shore was cause they ran straight at me. then they would turn back out and erase any progress that was made. imo, if fish do get tired, i've not seen it.

2 - 3 hours irl time... that is dedication.

Fish in this game do not get tired and I've read somewhere that you have to put drag on the fish that is 50% or more of it's weight to be able to get it in. I do not know how true this is though and I've never seen it confirmed by a dev. So if this is true then for example you won't be able to land a 20kg fish if the drag you are applying to it is less than 10kg. I've never tested this myself and do not know if it's true and I can't recall ever landing a fish that is more than 50% heavier than my current drag as I always setup as close as possible to the target fish weight. Maybe it's not 50% and a bit lower than that , but there is defnitely a threashold number that will make a fish unlandable as they don't have stamina.

EDIT: I had a look and the biggest fish I caught was 43kg Gar , I don't recall exactly what I was using , but I remember 16kg line. So the drag would have been a little less than that. So there goes the 50% theory out the window.
