I'm guessing its a bug, why else would the devs bother giving the fish a "credit reward" if you cant keep it anyway.

It's not a bug, you can't keep them they are a protected/endagered species, working as intended. Same with eels.

Also keep in mind it still goes on leaderboard once you release it if it qualifies, also still goes in your profile

Not gonna happen, it's a protected species, they chose to not allow you to keep it. In fact if you take one in real life you could face prison time. They are staying true to that in the game. However we have suggested that they make the credits on it 0 and increase the xp seeings it can't be kept.

Haha what a joke. I love how that as soon as something has a negative impact on a player the devs make sure its simulated.

Whats the next step? Asking me for my IRL fishing license before i can start the game?

The exact ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason we play games is to get around these type limits of real life. Another point for Russian fishing 4 i guess

It actually wasn't the devs for your information, it was multiple testers that wanted it that way.
Ones from Europe actually.
