bait lost

With feeder and ground rods it's 90% 'bait was eaten or lost'.
Is it so hard to just remove this from the game ??? saves a lot off bugs.
Its things like this that makes me play other games.....

u fight and reel in the fish and then no fish comes out of the water. NOTHING!
Bait distroyed after this .... too

were you using small minnows or large minnows?

a lot of different hooks and baits doesn't help us testers confirm the problem on the test servers, need specifics if you want us to look into it, and we need to be able to replicate it to get it fixed.

I had the same issue while I using nightcrawler or sweet peas(just forgot which one) with 1 and 1/0 hook.

Usually a bait was eaten or lost problem is because hook size is too big. If you look at the hooks in the shop you can see that they added smaller hook sizes then what we had before. So that would change the hooks and hook sizes we've been using prior to update. Go smaller hooks untilt he bait was eaten or lost goes away.

Secondly, the reason i asked if small minnows, and large minnows is because there are some known problems, which are being addressed. Was just seeing if he was running into that one.

bait : nightcrawlers , redworm , wax worm , small cutbait , dragon fly , small minnow , minnow , ...

hooks : 6,4,2,1,1/0,2/0,3/0,4/0.

most bait lost in italy , next to wall with water-locks.

i will try smaller hooks then this today. thx for the help and i will post results here later.

Not saying that's exactly what the problem is, but now I have the information of where to go, what you were using, and see if I can recreate it to see if it's a common problem :) Thank you.

One of the other testers chimed in, and said those missed strikes/ bait was lost or eaten very well could be asps hitting, and they have tiny mouths :)

I think anglers just need to adapt and use much smaller hooks and lighter lines in Europe I think, this isn't US style "hit em and wind em straight in" fishing. There is more finesse needed in Europe because the fish mostly get returned to fight again - well except in some places where the peasants are always hungry and will eat anything.

I'm from belgium and started fishing here 40 years ago as a little boy. Many times on the gent-terneuzen canal. I know wat to use irl , but that dont work here. I'm trying much smaller hooks now and it's a lot less 'bait lost'. I see other bugs too , but they are hard to explain... like switching a rod in hand with the rod on a stand sometimes freezes the game , or left-right-up-down movement. after zooming in and out a few times it's back to normal. when game freezes , i have too restart game.

Ok, the "tackle was taken out of water before the fish was hooked" bug, the one where the fish escapes right when you pull it out of water... it happens to me almost 4 in 5 fishes caught right now. I'm fishing for Zander with 2 feeder rods using a 0/2 hook and 0/3 hook, with leeches but it happened to me before when fishing with: small minnows, nightcrawlers, small cutbait too. This keeps happening in the current patch even if they said they fixed it in the last patch. Maybe prioritize fixing this since it's a gamebreaking bug instead of "fixing bells ringing too much"? Just thinking... I'm starting to think it's a physical collision between the feeder cage and the fish model when you pull them out of water...

PS: don't think it's a matter of hook size since Zanders are larger than Walleyes and i'm using smaller hooks than i was using on Walleyes, unless it's badly coded or Zanders have a really small mouth :)

Tell me about it, i've been ranting to them about it, as i'm running into a lot as well. They said they have it fixed for the NEXT update, but that's all i've heard since.

I have a problem when using small minows fish either none existant no wake splash etc so powerful rod nearly in the water or reel the fish in for something like 140' just to the shore line for it to get off...reason bait was pulled out of the water before the fish was hooked

set up is exactly the same as Shamino (thank you) as posted in his video, size #4 hook
