Why you spread rumours?
https://steamcommunity.com/app/380600/discussions/0/1743342383227727543/
As there is soon an update with a new lake, logically the bottom fishing will be added soon too.
it's not a rumour it's on the roadmap since end of 2017, the new lake will be a carp lake, so for bottom fishing.
If you followed the FB page, you will see the new carps species fish are in development since few months.
And to go further, it's totally logical that the new update on FP will come soon, all fishing game made their big update few days ago and in the next week, 2 new fishing games will be released before mid of September, if FP team want to keep players on their game, they MUST release a big patch in this period, as they do since 1 years, they always follow the patch périod of otther fishing game.
Well, your comments warrant an obvious answer.
"Common" does indicate an exact weight range. It's the typical weight range of a young adult. To know what that means in lbs or kg, you would need a little experience with said species.
And there's plenty of big fish in this game, just not in Texas. All the fish there are small so you don't break your gear constantly hooking up to big fish.
Also, many of the weights cited are extremely rare. I've done a fair bit of fishing up north, but I've never met anybody who's even seen a 55 lb pike or a 44 lb walleye.
Lastly, you seem unsatisfied with everybody's responses. I think the issue is your lack of a coherent question. From what I can see, you just posted this to complain that you're not catching enough fish. Most of the knowledge you need has been offered here. The rest is easily acquired through a little game experience.
Yeah, I did. It's 3 run-on paragraphs of complaint.
It doesn't sound like you've done much actual fishing, but 15 pound pike are not common. There's a lot of them some places, but you'll always catch way more small fish than big ones. That's simply because there's 10x more small fish that are a year old than huge fish that have survived a decade.
So, if you're fishing somewhere with young fish but no old fish, like New York, you should expect it to be pretty hard to find a good one. The later areas tend to not have the young fish, which makes the average fish size much larger. I'm in Alberta now and the average pike is 4-6 pounds. There's also 15 pounders out there, but they're rare.
And no, you don't need special tackle to catch trophies and uniques. Even with standard tackle and no ubersheet, you can find trophies pretty easy. Surface activity, submerged debris, all the usual stuff you would look for to find fish. Uniques are intentionally very rare, and unfortunately it would seem that they tend to spawn in a few isolated pre-selected areas. I've still stumbled across plenty though.
Now, if there's still nothing on this page that satisfies the purpose of your post, you should prolly refine your question/statement to provide a more clear point.
If you're really desperate to catch the biggest fish possible, all you can do is use a larger hook, which will mean you're sitting alot longer without a bite waiting for that monster to come along.
Generally, it's not worth the effort.
Tight lines. o7
