Pikeslasher Monster problems

Hello. I have some trouble catching the Pikeslasher.
I been trying for hours and I'm now on day 5 in game and still haven't got it.

I tried hooks from 1/0 to 4/0 and tried different depth and locations. Also watched Youtube videos and done same as they and I still don't get any bite. I closed the game off and verified game files, thinking that would work, but still no fish.

Is my game just bugged or have I missed something? Is there a mission elsewhere I have to complete before?

How I got the bugger.
From the dock cast N/E, towards the pumpkin that is near the rocks, my cast distance was around 145 feet, 20 LB fluro line, 4/0 hook, depth 47 inches, time hooked, 4.05 am.

That's what I'm trying now. Had my bait in the water for 3 in game hours and still waiting for the fish

Time started: 4 am. And I was holding the rod, you are not using a rod stand are you?

a few mins ago i got mine in the same area of @Cod Eyes video; at night , 2/0 hook, 105cm deep.. i got a lot of nibbles before the bite, so be patient (from 21:00 to 22:15) https://imgur.com/a/BRaHsHJ

Nope no rod stand.

I don't get any nibbles or anything. I think my game is seriously bugged because I am now on day 7 (very patient person here) and still no fish. Getting really annoyed with this mission.

I finally got the fish and the solution to my problem was so stupid.
I bought a new rod.

Was using my IrishClover 300 and I basically downgraded and bought the Fenix 450 and within 20 in game minutes I got the fish. Doesn't make any sense to me but it worked.

nice! and thinking about it, i was using the brutus 300 a few hours/game days with no bites before using the fire fenix 450 from last year event that finally completed the task

Caught mine on a Ardix 13'2". At the south side edge of the lily pads. Hours and hours of gametime and real time with nothing happening. Then I hook up at 4:14 AM. I think that is the key. Every video I've seen has people hooking it in the 4 AM hour. And that was when mine came.
