New boats how do you TROLL LURES?
I've seen warlordsully on twitch troll lures, another FP player spazzhands made a post asking Which boats can be trolled from. So how about some answers? I bought the boat made of rubber and can't troll a lure in it. Do all boats troll lures? Do only some boats troll? How do you troll lures?

Trolling.....
Basically, can we troll lures now? Which boats can be trolled from and why cant we use the rod holders on Kayaks for this. Y'know like Kayak fishermen do...

Also, does vertical jigging work now? Or are there any plans to introduce it as an "official" method.

I do have to wonder at the point of boats (not really, I think we all know) if these basic and common boat methods are not actually in the game.

Edit: I just had a Look at the boats and they have no rod holders yet the kayaks do. What is that about? Nearly 400 000 for a boat you cant troll from?? This game has had some moments but this one might be the best.
Perhaps Trolling is coming soon...........

It is half the point of having a sounder. To find bottom features to troll over. So what is the point of a sounder? It's not a simulation of boat fishing at that point. but then the reels have never worked properly either. If you drag does irl what it does in game its broken so I don't know why I had expectations.

I brought one of the bass boats earlier. Yes it was expensive (460000 credits or something). However it can be brought with the in game money. When you get to a certain level you can't spend the money you earn from the fishing so you just end up building money up for nothing. I have only had time for a quick test but I like it. Places like Michigan, where I enjoyed fishing from the canoe thing were a pain cause of the time it took to paddle to the pike spot. Now it's just a quick scoot round and your there. OK, the game still has a few bugs, but I do still love it and still pass hours playing. You can earn 50k plus a day in Russia after the cost of bait, travel and repairs. It doesn't seem that expensive for 9 days fishing to me.

Are there more places to launch it? Or just the same dock as the kayak?

Can you beach it and hop out like the Kayak?

Anyone noticed since this latest patch the New York advanced license is now 900 put up by 300 and crappy orange fish info Also wtf, Why has those stupid missions come back on my menu, i shut them down months ago now this crap is back again,do not want to buy a specific rod to do some boring mission to catch crappie ffs im level 47 so do not want to be doing this rubbish

I watched warlordsully on twitch troll in a boat with a lure and catch trout at one lake and catfish at another. He used an aluminum boat, I tried with the rubber boat and it won't let me, they may have it setup where one boat can and another boat can't.

Maybe trolling is only for boats that have a trolling motor? I notice the boat I bought doesn't have one, also one of the bass boats doesn't come with a trolling motor either, I don't want to exit out of my lake to go look, but I think there are three bass boats and if I remember correctly, the one with coins has a trolling motor, then second one does not, and the last bass boat at level 50 has trolling motor, if you click 3D you can see which ones have trolling motor and which don't.

I'm only throwing out a wild guess about having to have a trolling motor to troll a lure. If anyone figures out how to troll let everyone know please.

put motor at 4 percent or less then cast out your lure thats in the flat bottom boat use trolling motor on the bass boat

Why isn't there a trolling motor on the level 45 bass boat? I've been boringly farming money to buy a bass boat so I can troll around brush and fish for bass and pike. It specifically states in the DLC news page and on the startup screens that bass boats have trolling motors, which is the main attraction of a bass boat. I have yet to see a bass boat IRL that doesn't have a trolling motor. There isn't even a DLC option to buy the coin version of the bass boat which does have a trolling motor, at a significantly lower level than the one that doesn't.

So basically I have to grind out level 50 or spend $100 on baitcoins to get a bass boat with a trolling motor?

Not surprised. I went to Moose Lake specifically to stock up on Shiners at 525. After the boat patch they have gone up to 975. Maybe I need to look at the license cost as well.

This is going to make things awful tough for those of us freeloaders. Making money was tough enough before this, it is almost becoming a waste of time at this point, unless you are premium, and even premium players might feel a hit. Unless they adjusted fish prices, which I doubt, but correct me if I am wrong.

They have changed the level requirement as well. It basically have traded places with Rocky Lake. Rocky level lowered and Emerald increased.

I did a bit of trolling with one of the cheapest metal boats, albeit to no avail. You can get the engine going and then cast out a line. I got a few bites, but no takes.

It kinda makes sense though. Rocky is good for money and XP, but it's dead easy. Just toss a float into the water in front of you and you'll catch trout. Emerald takes a bit more effort.

I rented the boat on St Croix. Trolled the bay that goes to Pike spot three or 4 times. Caught pike, muskie, small mouth and trout. About a dozen fish in 40 minutes.

Problem is how do you shut off motor when you catch a fish? Lol I had to wait until the boat grounded itself every time. If you get a big fish on that won't work. A Trophy Pike drags you around. Hate to think what a Uni Muskie would be like.

So unless there is a way to shut off motor, or steer the boat while your rod is out, trolling is not a reason to buy the boat.
