Assuming that you have never caught a fish before and are new to this game.

The rod you are using has a reel...it has several drag settings. The higher the drag, the stronger the reel will pull a fish to "reel it in". HOWEVER, too much drag will cause your line to break. You will need to experiment with this. Look at your key binding settings to determine which keys increase and decrease your drag.

If you're referring to the Spotted Bass at Texas you will have to level up and save money so you can upgrade to stronger tackle, then it will become easier to reel them in.

You will need a float rod...seems to me telescopic ones are pretty cheap. Use maximum drop, at night, down at the end of the lake farthest from the walk bridge. There is a deep hole there that you can see on the map.

A Match (float) rod will do for starters, highest level Omnifloat or Nero that you can get, highest level reel that doesn't exceed the rods highest line weight number and mono line that doesn't exceed the reels max drag number. A chubby float set to max depth, #1,1/0 or 2/0 hook. Some (not too much) small cutbaits, petfood, crickets or grasshoppers for bait. Find out where the deeper water is (via the Map) and go there. Check the weather forecast and forward time (do not use baitcoins for this) just before the graph is heading up to its highest. Start fishing.
