Grats,
I'm having trouble with the Moose Lake, "Alberta Salmon Lure" 15.5 lb + Salmon.
Any tips?
This is the Atlantic Salmon in Alberta right ?
I would suggest this :
Use any Tiger spoon, the red or yellow and cast right in front of dock .
If you have a boat , ride around in front to locate fish .
A 1½ oz or 6/7 oz is good . Need to do a little countdown for it to sink a little . couple seconds , like 5 or 10 seconds is good enough .
They usually are not that deep .
There are couple of them also to the left , close to the rock wall, but , also lots of Lakers .
Good luck . Keep me posted .
Got the Trophy Atlantic Salmon at Moose Lake on Yellow Tiger 1 1/2 Oz. #4/0 just like you said.
Thank You.
Great news and great job !!
Trying it now. Not catching a thing. Same time frame , same lure. Nothing. Not even a common let alone a trophy. Just cast after cast without a bite. Is there specific retrieve speed/method it needs ?
Sad to hear Marshall . Don't know what to tell you more . I do a straight retrieve with some occasional twitching , here and there .
Like mentioned above , if you have a boat , go look for them in the front .
If not , it could be just bad luck for now .
Keep trying .
What speed straight ?
Speed 1
Speed 2 will result in a faster spoon elevation . You will need to pause often , to let it sink again .
It's my tip for Mission Salmon hunt/San Joaquin.

Good luck!
Back in what I call The Back Channel. The area isn't on the location selection map. Basically, deep in the Beaver. >_>
11:35 PM on Day 5 - Clear skies - 53 F air temp, 57 F water. South wind at 0.2.
At the end of the central point with my kayak pointing south towards the berm. Anchored right up against the reeds at the shore.
Cast was to the right, about half way between the last set of reeds and large rock on the berm and where the channel turns toward the main lake.
Hook-up was only about 20-25 feet away from my kayak though.
X-Series medium spoon. Speed 2 with 3 dot Stop & Go.
Barbless Medium Spoon 14g, #3/0 in yellow.
He caught it at 20:25 Day 2 at Delta. Map co ordiates [81.05, 106.24]
