"Pike hunt I: casting spoon" broken?

I spent 15 days on Mudwater, interchanging between 1/0-2/0 golden and silver spoon, on all spots and not one grass pickerel that suffice for the mission sequence completion was caught.

Is this mission broken, so I do not waste my time with it camping months at Mudwater?

I managed to catch it with a spoon of 14 gr. rainbow by bringing speed 1 on the trunks of dead trees to the spot on the right.

I also got it between the tree trunks to the right of the initial spawn location. Used the 1/4oz red/white casting spoon. AM high time.

Update: day 21. Got 0.60 grass pickerel that was hiding during 21 day long eradication of pickerel on Mudriver.

Probably caught it because there were none other left. lol

Nah, you have to use casting spoon, nano or any other didn't work or were accounted for.

I started with the pickerel in NY. I've spent an hour or two on it so far, and I caught a few grass and redfin trophies that would be just under the size requirement. It seems that the weights for these are placed very high in the possible weight range. Clearly these missions are supposed to be a challenge.

As far as the chain pickerel I'm after, I haven't even caught a trophy yet. However, I do know that the requirement for the chain is much lower than the maximum possible. The biggest one I've ever caught was either 5.7 or 6.7 pounds.

I spent 21 days worth of peak time to get 0.6kg one on Mudwater, and had many just a few grams short from enough.

It is lucrative but it can get a tad bit repetitive at some point.

I just started my Mudwater trip, I suspect that it may be difficult to find everything. I spent about half an hour trying to catch the drum, and all I've caught so far is one small bass.

On the bright side, I did knock out all the Neherrin missions in about an hour.

If you use the Trophy Casting Spoon 3/4oz #3 that you get as a reward for completing the previous mission it's much easier to catch the Grass Pickerel 1.3Ib+

I was struggling myself to catch the Pickerel but changed to the reward Trophy Casting Spoon...on the second cast I manged to catch it
