Colorado Golden Trout
I've spent 3 hours now fishing Rocky. I haven't managed to catch a single Golden on barbless. I caught plenty of them on float gear back during my 30-day, am I missing something? I've tried the rocks by the little waterfall, the lilies in front of Trout Paradise, and the rocks to the left of there.

Where are yall finding the Goldens?

For the one that needs no size , just catch and release I used a "1 nano spinner. Left side of the lake casting next to the rocks. You should get a small one every now on then on the #1.

The one that requires the trophy though is even worse. I spend days struggling with that one. It seems the trophy only takes the #1/0 nano spinner , and only on the absolute peak of peak time. The rest of peaks you only get the rest. Spot for the trophy is same , left side of lake casting next to the rocks. Hope it helps.

After 4 hours, I finally caught one. I used a #2 barbless tiger nano-spinner on 6 lb mono. Thankfully it was a trophy, big enough to satisfy the requirements for both challenges.

It was early in the night, very low on the bite chart. No clue why it was so hard to find, I've caught plenty of them before. Now I just need a nice big crappie, and then I'm ready to move on to Falcon Lake.

Nice, congrats. I hope that one wasn't as difficult for you as it was for me.

Thanks, Maj. That one actually went pretty quick, but I saw another fella catch one and noted the location.

Knowing you, you covered every inch of that lake with no help from anybody until you got it! A higher achievement, to be sure.

Lol thanks for the kind words. I definitely used a bit of past experience though. Colorado was one of my first 30-days. Not to mention, there's not much dead water there. It's pretty much chock-full of trout.

Funny how that works...I hadn't been to Falcon in ages, but the mission path drove me there. I had a really good time just casting for trout...I had forgotten how relaxing that location is.

Yeah, Falcon is a great lake. I'm lookin forward to that one.
