About Bites and Nibbles
Okay so I am primarily still fishing in Texas for bass. I'm getting pretty good at it but it could be better. When jigging I notice that I get these little bites but then nothing happens after that. As if the fish became disinterested or alarmed. Not sure which? What am I supposed to be doing when that happens? Do I keep reeling or did I try to snag. (sorry if my terminology isn't kosher) But I'm sure you know what I am talking about.

Because these little nips from the fish are barely registered on my line. Thanks for the help in advance and HAPPY FISHING :D (Loving this game)

I am using the time of day correctly for fishing at optimal times. And it's weird because when I first get there I litteraly get about 5 fish in 7 mins. And without changing my technique or setup here I am 25 mins later without having another catch. I keep getting these little nibbles, but I feel like there's something I am missing here? Please help if you can. Because these long spans of not catching anything are frustrating and sort of boring tbh. Thanks.

Usually those little nibbles but no strike indicate the fish either does not like the bait or the hook size is larger than the fish wants.

Awesome info thank you very much. The only problem is I am using a spinner which is very good at catching bass. But sometimes they just don't bite. Does this also happen to you?

as shadrays said its a indicator that somthing is slightly wrong aswell as hook size and bait it also could be as simple as just changing the lure colour :D

Or you got hit by the "no fish for you" system. The one that lights up the tension indicators like a xmas tree and when you strike it's a miss. You know.., that "no fish for you" system that was so clearly shown by the ghost pikes in the halloween event and is really prevalent in topwater fishing.

From what I've seen it's the game's auto-nerfing kicking in. That's what I call it anyway. It simply stops you from catching too many fish. I've seen it over and over and over. You are getting good catches then just suddenly for no reason nothing and then things like this "miss hits" starts to happen. For no reason. Same lure , same species you still targeting , but they just suddenly either don't bite at all or miss hit. I've even seen this on the trusty old crankbait the other night. Caught 3 fish on it , no problems , no miss hits for whatever reason people can think of , and then suddenly after those 3 fish I caught it just gave me miss hit after miss hit for the next 10 minutes. As many as 7 miss hits in just 1 cast and retrieve. It's auto-nerving kicking in and that's what I believe as nothing else makes sense. If any of the other suggestions for this behavior were true then I would get miss hits right from the start , not only after I caught a bunch of fish one after the other on the same lure.

I do not know if they still have diminishing returns in the game,ie one spot will produce for about an hour then bite rate drops dramatically.

If so, then as posters have said above, you either need to change peg or change lure, presentation or bait for a while.

Seems to work for me.

hello, for bass in texas try casting spoons #2 to 1/0, slow reel in or med/slow stop n go. The spinner will work better in higher lvl lakes (for trouts and some bass). that works good by daytime for bass.

another good lure that you can try (a must have for me) is the narrow spoon 1/0 -will be usefull from texas to michigan at least..

good luck n happy fishing :)

I will try everyone's suggestions and report back my findings. Thanks again.

I still see it a fair amount. Even to the point I set the hook, reel it in with constant tension, then the fish just disappears. Have even had them disappear as I am pulling it out of the water.

Umm what lvl are you? Because I'm not seeing that exact lure name. And the ones that are close to that aren't unlocked until the high lvl 30's!! So really this doesn't help much as I am a lvl 14 :(

This is somewhat true, some time ago players complained very loudly that the game was like fishing in a barrel, in some places it still is, a player can stand in one spot and catch fish all day but most areas have differing spawn rates for x amount of given real time, I can't quote specific times or numbers but for example you might be in a spot where you know you can catch a trophy or two and maybe three or four normal fish but after you catch them you will get nothing for a time, basicly until a timer resets...at least this is how it seems to me, this was designed I think to encourage players to move around and discover other fishing spots as well as other species of fish...its also a key method to doing well in events, when you have spent a few minutes catching fish in one spot you move to another that you know produces and continue for the duration of the event, staying in one spot hoping to catch the target fish will destroy your chances every time, but hey don't mind my rambling here...this is just my humble opinion.

Whatever... this game sucks. It's another micro-transaction bs title. I'm done playing it tbh. The fishing is becoming very annoying and the only way to unlock most items is to spend LOTS of real money. The devs demand way too much real money. I'd rather buy a game outright instead of deal with this half _ssed attempt at being a decent game. And it's very frustrating when you equip all of the appropriate items to still only get the smallest fish in an area. I've spent many hours in the game so far and honestly I wish I could get my time back. Disapointment is an understatement...

Sorry you feel this way, you seem to have changed your attitude towards the game since the original post, I can only assume this is due to early game grind and economic frustration...this latest version of the game can be very harsh on new players, with that said know this... you do NOT need to purchase anything to fully enjoy the game but to get to a point where economics are not a concern can be a very long process...a player really needs to love the game to want to learn it...there are many guides for starting players... should you feel the desire to return to trying to play it you might want to look into some of them, they could mean the difference between learning the game and enjoying it or becoming frustrated and hating it.
