Fishing Planet or The Fisherman ?

Should I spend another 40 on fishing planet and go to the lake where I can catch alligator gar at level 26 or should I just go spend 40 and get The Fisherman and work my way up on there?

The Fisherman you get all the dlc plus new lake to travel and new fish to catch and new way to fishing

Wait wait wait so by paying 40 dollars on The Fisherman I get all the DLC that is available for purchase from Fishing Planet?!

There's a big catch though. 1. You have to unlock them with baitcoins , thousands of baitcoins. 2. You can only repair them with baitcoins. So if you don't like grinding for baitcoins then the DLC in The Fisherman is completely useless and irrelevant. I won't see the DLC as a selling point at all due to those 2 major flaws.

What is worth it though and in my opinion worth it to buy the game for :

- No expiring licenses.
- Unlimited licenses are bought with in-game credits ( and are very cheap )
- No cool down timers. ( Fast forward time as you like without having to wait for timers )
- 50% Less travel costs
- 50% More credits for catching fish
- 50% More XP for catching fish

Those are really really nice to have and are the strong points of The Fisherman. Well worth it in my opinion , but it's up to you.

The ones in the store ( that unlocks by level ) you must also buy with bait coins. You don't just get it when you "unlock" them or can buy them with credits , so they are the same issue as the other packs. It all costs bait coins.

All good to know. So long term it seems to be worth it VS Fishing Planet. Rn I could throw 200 USD at fishing planet no problem. Thank you for all your feedback everyone! I plan to purchase The Fisherman in 2 hours :P

It's a no brainer really, The Fisherman because;

1. No 1 day real time limit on fishing waters. Fish when you want for how long you want.
2. You only buy a license the once.
3. You level up 4 times faster.
4. Travel costs are a fraction of what they were.
5. 1 new fishery, 4 new species and trolling technique.
6. A friendly, helpful player base!
7. No microtransactions
8. No hidden paywall.

Yes its amazing. I do recommended purchasing the packs because without them you don't stand much of a chance against the Halloween event

Sad it costs baitcoins to repair them though (the stuff from the packs)

YES I just found that out. I was shocked to see all of that. I am so happy about that way easier to catch 20 lbs fish.

I am not sure but I think you can purchase the pack then select gift and gift it to anther account.

Fisherman now costs about 50 Euro. I like Fishing Planet and am very interested into Fisherman, but honestly, I would never pay that amount while most likely Fisherman is facing the same issue of memory leak using ground rods and rod holders, so you have to restart the game at least every 30 minutes because of increasing stuttering.
And no, it's definitely not the system. A Ryzen 7 200X, 16GB RAM and a RTX 2070 work very well at any other game.

Conclusion: Fix that "old bug" (it?s there for over a year now) and I will buy Fisherman.
Otherwise, from my perspective, I will not recommend buying Fisherman and give the advise to play Fishing Planet, since this is Free to Play (ok, with DLC's, but that is up to you)

If you have purchased many advanced unlimited licenses and have all the DLCs or most and you are like 40 USD away from the last DLC it isn't worth The FIsherman. Other wise 100% worth it. The free version is free to download rather sad and boring at times to play; Because you have to grind for months and it's just not worth it. Ultimately you will spend 60 bucks on the Free To Download version because you will get tired of waiting. Where as The Fisherman it's completely free you can earn you way to everything with in a reasonable amount of time well worth 40 USD in the long run. I was about to spend 45 USD (taxes included) on the gars and glory pack and a pack of baitcoins just to get a advanced license for !1! lake and have like 50 BCs to spare just so I could sit there for the rest of my life. But then I considered I only had the Sport DLC and thought if The Fisherman is truly free to play then I my as well put my money there.
