Negative XP or Minus XP
I do not understand the thing when i get minus xp. I bought new rod and reel so i can have esier chance to get the fish, but its makes it harder bcs you get minus xp so i get super confused. So i dont know what to do. I wish that thing was not in game. But i do know why its too easey to catch one.

Sorry for bad grammar

The three red arrows just mean you are getting less xp for the fish you catch because the setup you are using is overpowering. You are not losing xp per fish, just recieving less xp.

Remember that all 3 main things in your setup ( Rod , Reel and Line ) must have a strength as close to possible of the weight of your target fish you catch. When you use much stronger gear , for example 12lb gear to catch 2lb fish , then you get penalized as it's too easy to land those fish then. To avoid this , know the fish weights you are going to target and use a setup as close as possible to that weight. Remember all 3 components count , so even if you use just a strong rod and the rest light you will still get penalized due to the rod for example.

So really you get punished for buying baitcoin gear/dlc then. Nice one. :D
It's kind of silly imho, small fish give less xp anyway so when you reach a certain level, who cares...

Yeah, cus all the heavy gear you buy have to be bought with baitcoins or in a dlc, and can not be bought with credits. :steamfacepalm:

Only not when you go back to lower level areas. If you go by your level and buy baitcoin gear, for your level, it's OP for your level area. Without spending baitcoins you can't have OP gear for your level.

There really is no need for OP gear. It sucks the fun out of the game because fish just end up coming in like a topwater.

this is the reason ive always got rods that cover all weights roughly on me all the time :D using heavy gear on lighter fish is just booring cant beat fighting a salmon in cali on a ultralight setup :D

i target line weight - to size of fish, 15 lb gear set down to 12 lb by just the line fast action rods or med to heavy , drag load on what reel, but for me it comes down to what size fish im going for. and what im going for money or xp' or.
