How do i play co-op?

You have to join the same room. Either you or your buddies can make a private room - when you go a map, there is a section Friends only room. Click on it (select it) and only you and your friends (in game) can play on it. If they've already did one, I think that there's a new camp/field that'll appear - Join friends room.

Edit: You'll be able to fish with them on the same map, that's all.
