Float fishing
Been on my mind for a long time now but have suffered it as it wasn't too much of a hinderance but now it has to stop. Whoever is advising you on what happens during a fish taking bait is clearly misleading you. There is on the odd occasion times where a fish will knock the float a few times or make it dip fooling you in to thinking it is going under. But 95% of the time there is either 1 single tell tail sign of interest and the float sails away or it just goes under . All this bib bob run here run there same bite taking 10 in game mins sometimes and then the fish leaves. It is nonsense and it is getting worse. With each update this whole catching a fish on float has gotten slower and slower and I suspect by design. Please speed this process up it is unnatural and will be a game breaker or put people off float fishing. If I wanted to watch bolero on water I would go watch torvil and dean :)

Before all the so called experts pipe up i forgot to put 1 exception to the rule is Pike as this is pretty much standard behaviour. But normal float fishing its a no no

I would have to disagree, unless you are using such a small hook and thus bait even the smallest fish can take it, when using larger baits then small fish may nibbel on a bait that is just to big for them in the hope of braking a bit off.

generally i do agree with you, but as said above a lot is dependant on hook and bait size and type, but it is way too much at the moment

Dude did you even bother to read the thread properly. This does not happen IRL angling end of. Your a gamer not an angler so listen to those who know what their talking about instead of posting drivel just to see your own name in print.

The day i take any notice of what you have to say is the day the hole in my backside closes up. you know nothing about fishing full stop. Your one of the worse fanboys on the game. For your info the so called whiney few you call is 45% of the player base hardly a few is it?. I fished professionally my friend I know more about fishing than half the people on the planet.

a gamer who has been fishing for the past 40 years.

now if i was to chuck out a nice lump of mackerel flesh for going after >20lb pike in an area there are lots of small perch, do you in your ignorance think a 1/2lb to 1lb perch is going to open its mouth comically wide and swallow it?, do you think it will just swim past that pike sized morsel that its senses are saying is food? or do you think it will tug at that pike sized morsel to try to dislodge bits, all the time causing the float to bob?

if you hook an earthworm on a suitable hook leaving parts of it to dangle and wriggle around in an enticing manner, do you not think small fish that can't cope with the whole lot may tug at and pull off the dangaling bits as they wriggle enticingly, which again will cause the float to bob up and down or move? or do they in your world swim nonchalantly by ignoring the wriggling offering?

maybe if we were chucking lots of bait like magots in the water to attract fish and create somewhat of feeding bonanza, then yes you may have a slight point, but we are NOT, we are presenting a single bated hook.

to listen to you, you would think all fish were born yesterday, full size.

likewise professional fishermen are two a penny here, i bet your dog is a professional fisherman too.

What bothers me is that you cannot catch a fish that nibbles on your bait, even if presumably the fish can be caught. IRL you can stick it with the hook with good reflexes.

i just think that it takes far to long atm, even when u throw the bait out it jumps often back to me or behind me again. I also have it often that its saying "bait was moved to far away fish is gone" when i didnt even moved it. and some of the baits are rediculous, i mean my large minnow looks bigger then some fish i want to catch with it. My opinion is that a lot of it has to be changed.

Small bobs DO happen with small fish (perch, sunfish, white perch etc). Almost to the point of annoyance. But as they are bobbing I have about a 50% chance of snagging them out of reflex alone.

Larger fish 99% of the time just take the bobber right under water. I "slip" bobber fish for pike and walleye and that is something that could be argued as realistic to this current mechanic. But even then, as the bobber is "bobbing" I still have a chance to set the hook.

The graphical size needs adjusting as well,it is like fishing with boat fenders.

I have used 4-5 inch pike floats when fishing for pike or Shark, and they do not look the size of channel buoys or fenders even when close.

Well I took it you had the intelligence to rule out all of the above. Obviously not. And you even clarified my point it is a single bait . You need to think before you speak mate . Fish in real life do not go on tour with a grain of sweetcorn in its mouth and thats the last I am going to say about it. 40 years an amateur always an amateur

The more usual insults from you, simply use the report function. I'm pretty sure you've said enough to help yourself to a nice temporary ban. I hope you also note its hard for a fishing community to take the word of a "pro fisherman" seriously when all he/she does is play games for almost 50 hours a week.

Why don't you give your gums a rest before you trip over your lip. I am now disabled smart arse so I cannot go out anymore. Why should I get a ban ? . All you do is fanboy flame in every post as if you matter ? Keep saying nothings wrong and the game will fail. Bite the bullet and let them fix it the right way not the gamer way.
Yesterday when I would cast my bobber out it would bounce back 30 feet and put slack in my line the fish would laugh at me and the nearby anglers were all using lures which is in contrast to the way it was before when most people used floats in Texas

Being disabled does not give you the allowance for personal insults. What you call fanboy flame is what most people call a civilized discussion, all you do is throw insults around at any who you defined as a "fanboy".
