They should put that Tesco right in the middle of the lake. Don't have to worry about endangering the wildlife because there isn't any. :) But seriously. Someone needs to go have a look at the spawn rates. They're deplorable.
Catfishing bite rates are good. Saw someone in chat catch 2 trophy flatheads and then a unique back-to-back within the space of 5-10 mins. The fish do seem to be kind of concentrated and limited to a few deep holes, though. This is going to have people getting PO'd fishing on top of each other all the time.
Bass fishing there is either kind of a joke or I'm doing it wrong. Catching maybe 1-2 per game hour. Only 1 trophy spotted bass. Tried frogs, shiners, shrimp, spoons, cranks, spinnerbaits, bass jigs, the whole enchilada. Just not catching. Same for pickerel. There's water everywhere, and most of it looks way too fishy to not hold a few bass or bowfin. Need way more spawn points spread out everywhere. I'd say the bite rate or the number of spawn points for spotted and LMB need to be doubled.
The pickerel aren't a big deal to me. They're really more of a cold water species anyway. It would surprise the heck out of me to find one in a Louisiana Bayou. People catch them occasionally in southern LA, but they're not common at all there. Wouldn't mind a bit if the devs completely pulled them from this location.
They seriously need to put gators in there. :)
Of course all of this is from less than one full game day fishing there. Maybe it's just a bad 1st impression.
Yeah the catfishing there is okay. But if the lake is going to focus on catfish, then you need to put a money making fish in there to compensate for the lack of credits you receive per lb/kg. I seriously think it's not intended though (I hope).
Especially on pegs like "Pelican Hut" and "Good Ole' Tobacco" you should be able to crush largemouth in there - in my experience it's just not the case. I've thrown everything I can think of at them. It's just not where it needs to be.
Par for the course though isn't it. Somewhere that looks fishy devoid of any life and that happens on every venue. Some of the greatest looking hold ups have nothing but water. I doubt even bacteria lives there :)
