RL, casting reels are so much better than spinning reels (something that is not very accurate in-game). They take a bit of skill to use well but once you have that down the smoothness of casts and distance far outshines spinning reels not to mention the ability to put the brakes on a fish with just a little thumb pressure and not having to adjust the drag knob.
This. I primarily bass fish and this is so true. However, I do like jigging with spinning reels better. Recently, I've dropped all Rivertex gear in Alaska and opted for the Galaxy/Cyclone. So much more fun and realistic.
