leader board gets wipped every week its litraly pointless there is no braging rites lol
making the game so you have to use the heavyest gear to catch fish would be a big step backwards why should i have to use the heavyest gear to catch a unique/or big fish just to stroke your ego ?
what about all the upcoming new players that dont have the best gear i take it thats there fault cos theyve not played as long as you ? things as they are are ballanced, for instance jo blogs level 26 can grab his fenix and hornetswarm and go to the nice new luisiana swamp and with a little effort can bag himself a trophy gar with all the bragging rites :D
which is how it should be all hi lvl gear is for is to make catching the big fish easyer so as before you want a fight grab light gear :D
I dont want to fight fish for more than 2 min's before catching or losing them. you dont want to dumb your game down, so why should others with low lvl gear have to pander to you ?
Say what???
Exactly you said it... little effort.
Actually with that said... Its even better. Bump up the difficulty so there is a challenge with heavy gear (Even at that rate drop 10 lbs and there is still no challenge). If you want to try lighter gear and can actually land it then you should feel self accomplished. Unless of course you just like taking candy from children.
Well then this sure ain't a simulator, this is an arcade fishing game. Fast and easy, just like numerous games these days. Too much hand holding or people get upset and threaten to quit.
While i semi agree with you i can't remember the last time i went trout fishing with a salmon rod... its just not realistic
You should try it... think how much faster you could fill up your livewell on your boat. Then you can just fast forward time and skip that long drive home. I'm assuming when you go fishing you don't just click a button and teleport to the lake.
Well I'm not looking to be right. I'm looking for longevity in a game... I'm open to any sort of suggestion that will make the game more realistic and challenging all around.
For all I care - delete all the heavy gear in the game to make it a challenge. Oh, but if we do that then people will complain and threaten to quit. I also have all the big DLC, but if that is what it takes then remove it from the game all together. Or... switch it up for the new content.
I will still play either way. (until I feel as if it's too trivial and put it away for a bit and then try again in later patches.) I did enjoy the longer fights I must say...but back when it was broken.
Back then the fish did not have stamina... so maybe that is the adjustment that is just required to bump that up.
Fish slipping the hook is of course an added bonus, but still does not fix the issue that this post is about when you actually land it.
I agree with your post overall, can't please everyone.
I know I think 1 in game hour for a super oversized fish would be good 15 min fight, meets the halfway peeps want. The prob is if they do that they want to add the slipping the hook mechanic. Which gives us the WTF how did that fish get off again from the community.
15 minute fight?? I would be happy with even a 8-10, given that the fish don't last 3 minutes at this point. however, the more the better...
However - perhaps this is where barbed hooks would come in to play as opposed to barbless for slipping the hook.
