Any reel will catch them and it doesn't matter what line recovery it has. Colour of any lure for any species doesn't matter in the game. (even though it does in real life).
Whoever designed this thankyou for your hard work, but many of us are still old school and won't change, at least we have imperial and metric in the settings page of the game.
"Basicly fill the net/cage as fast as you can during peek times, leave the lake, and come back in. Rince and repeat."
You do not need to leave the lake.
The biggest piece of advice I give new players is to ALWAYS UPGRADE YOUR NET/STRINGER to the biggest you can afford. Don't do go too broke to where you can't travel and pay for license. Too many new players don't take that into account.
It may be better if you move on to bigger and better lakes because the fish get bigger which brings in more xp and $. After all, there is a reason Texas is free. Of course be sure you have the gear to handle the fish before traveling.
