Make sure the rod is right for the wieght of the lure. if you put on a lure too heavy for the rod,I guarantee it will break. And what ever a reel says its maximun drag setting is it can't be used, Drags set to maximun will break the line and maybe the reel.
Check the link to Uber Sheets in pinned discussions. There you will find the best reel for your line.Also the drag position you need to look for needs to be over a half pound less then your line. So in other words if you're looking for a reel for 10lb line,you need to find one you can set at 9.25 lbs
