Maybe that could have been the case.
It's a real mystery to me :(
So you had to use the spinning rod... not only the spinning reel... which mean end lure could be jigheads or spoons etc... but not float and worms...
And from your description I believe it was the Neherrin minimal...
Personally I would love to see a clearer list of what is ok and what not, cause I'm sure a lot of other newbies would not understand what is within the rules and what not.
But in the end it's not a major issue. I learned a valuable lesson :)
But I can also tell you that in french we do have rules that are wrongly translated from english, causing even more issues
I think all developers know that the quick recovery of the game's gold is the reason why the bug is deliberately not fixed in order to turn it into a style of play.
Developers need this approach to grow their games, but the obvious result is that it leads to a massive loss of players. If the game doesn't die soon, it will never be fixed.
This mysterious rule, maybe old players know, they know the hidden rules of every game, they can play, they don't even want to teach new players the hidden rules, the developers think if someone knows how to play, the game is fine.
These are obviously bad things, which is why games die.
