How do I equip hook (greyed out)
It has been along time since I played this. I started it and it said I had no rod setup. I had like 8000+ points so I bought a rod, reel, line, couple of hooks and some red worm bait. I put the reel on the rod by moving iit over. I put the line on by moving it over and cutting at 200. The hooks and the bait is greyed out, I cannot equip the item is all it tells me. I have tried for 30 minutes and cannot figure out how to get those items not to be greyed out. I still have 5000+ points and when I buy the hook (I have bought them all) it says they are moved to the back pack.
I restarted steam but nothing is working for me.
Thanks, it use to be easy to use this program.

Sounds like you purchased a spinning or baitcasting setup, they use lures, jigs ect. match and tele rods use hooks, bobbers and bait.
If its a match or telescopic rod you will see a spot for the bobber and the line leader adjustment, with spinning and baitcasting rods you won't as they use lures only.
Everyone starts the game with a tele float rod setup, since you've not played for awhile and the game said you didnt have a rod equipped it could be in your home storage (unless you sold it)
Hope this helps.

My real life fishing exploits have never surpassed a Zebco reel on a pole with bobber, hook and worms. When I really got ambitious I would take off the bobber put a weight 12 inches from the hook and bottom fish for catfish or bullhead so the scope of this game is far beyond my experience. I never fished for fun, I use to fish to eat. LoL

Nothing wrong with a Zebco, I have a 30+ year old Zebco sitting in my garage, it works great.

The game really will get easier to understand, just takes a little time, the learning curve is a bit steep, just ask there are plenty of people in game and here willing to offer advice. Have fun!
