Game crashing

This just started today. Had no problem finishing two playthroughs of the game so far and now I'm stuck at the part where you have to defeat a few burglars to figure out what to do next.

Pretty much what is happening now is each time I beat a burglar the game pops up a few error messages and shuts down and I lose my progress and since it happens on the first burglar, I'm stuck and unable to proceed now.

I have restarted both my computer and Steam and verified the game cache and no resolution there. Personally, I think it is tied to the fact that the Steam client itself forced an update on me since the crashing started after that.

Edit: It's actually now doing it after finishing anything whether it be fighting crooks, making money, training, etc.

Exception Access Violation

Whenever I attempt to launch this game, I get an "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" error pop-up. I have tried re-installing, I have tried Run As Administrator, I have tried various compatibility modes. Has anyone else been having this problem? The game looks interesting, I would love the chance to actually PLAY it.

I'm experiencing a similar problem. When I complete a "dungeon" event, the game crashes. When it crashes I get 2 error messages one after the other. The first one says "ERROR: No available FlagItem objects!". The second message says "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION". When I restart the game, my progress since I last exited is lost.

I'm not 100%, but I "think" that it's a corrupted game save. My other game saves don't have this problem. Also, if I delete the game save and start another character, the issue doesn't re-appear. I tried this with my 2nd character's game save.

I suspect that the problem may be related to making money. I've noticed that certain more advanced jobs cause some abilities to go up, and others to go down. When I work at the Power Station or Soylent Corporation, my strength goes down, while my other abilities, and my funds, go up. If my strength reach zero, it seems that it might be corrupting the game save.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix for it?

Well, I was also able to identify that it was a corrupted save, but wasn't sure if it was just the one or not. Dev never responded back when I emailed on the issue and even included my save to figure out what may have happened.

And for me it's pretty much anything. For a time I could play for a few things, but eventually no matter what I'd do it would crash and progression was impossible. Let me dig up my stats and see if I was brought down to 0 though because I was making an attempt to raise them all.

Edit: Yeah, not issues on my end with stats being 0. Some level 0, but everything had points assigned to it.

Sorry to hear that you're having an issue with corrupted saves too!

I "may" just have found a work around. I was able to train my character to reach new power levels in strength, intelligence, and essence. As soon as I did that, I exited the game to initiate a saved game. I then restarted the game, and now the game is playing without any errors at all. So, the level ups in each category seem to have fixed the corrupted save.

I'd be interested to hear if this workaround helps anyone else...

Not working for me though. It at least doesn't crash when doing training, but once I level up and exit and try and do anything besides train it crashes again.

Well, I went and deleted the corrupted save since I couldn't resolve the issue and now the issue is back in a new save. Except even worse now because it often happens when trying to load an event too.

Since the dev seems to no longer be looking at the forums and stopped responding to emails on this, I think we can consider this game is abandoned in this hideous state and honestly I will be highly considering leaving a bad review due to the lack of support.

Demo crashing

When I try to start the demo version, it gives 2 popups: first says "CreateSoundBuffer failed (150)" and second is "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION". Even after numerous tries, I still have 0.0 hours so I can't even post a review on the demo page asking about it.
Given that the creator's website is just a default Apache home page, I'm going to delete this one and not even risk the full game. Too bad, it would probably have been some fun to play.

Game unplayable - Crashes on start

My first time trying to play this and I just can't get it to start. You see a glimpse of the loading screen, the progress bar is maybe 1/3 full and then it crashes with "Error writing to stream" followed by an "Exception Access Violation".

I've seen this reported in relation to corrupt saves, but I can't even get to the menu.

Tried all combinations of compatibility settings, running as admin, disabling steam overlay. Verified cache (no issues), uninstalled and reinstalled anyway. I'm still running Windows 7. :)

Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I just tried to load it on Win10 with the same errors. It used to work.

"EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" is STILL an Issue

Edit: This game has been broken for at least 4 months now. Safe to say this is abandonware.

It's been nearly a month since the last thread about this issue and the game is still broken and unplayable. Very disappointing.

Where are the developers?
