STASIS

Please explain the Stasis Chamber code in the Medical Bay? (SPOILERS)
So I just finished this section, and for the life of me I could not figure out the correct inputs to activate the stasis chamber and what corresponded to which body part. I honestly gave up and had to find the answer here to cheat my way through it. But this is the first puzzle that had me shaking my head, and I'm still not quite satisfied as to how it was supposed to be solved.

So the Head is the easy one (4-2)
Shoulder area was kinda hard to see but found it on one of those panels
Stomach area was confusing because the third stasis panel seemed to show a red line through the stomach with 3-3, but it was apparently 1-5
The PDA on Burke had 4-4, but no identifiable body part (I thought something like the legs since the tooltip on his body mentioned his broken femurs, but nope, apparently this goes on the feet)
the Dr's PDA had the 1-5 but again no corresponding body part

So is it just trial and error to input these? Because I could have spent hours trying to match the codes up. Or did I totally miss something.

Each combination of chemical sequence and dots are only available in one place but yes you have to look through the sequences for each part to find it for those that does no have the body part specificed. Also only 5 of the 6 parts have clues for them so you have to brute force the last one (which if we assume you start at 1/1 should only take 4 attempts).

3 are found in the room itself - 2 are as notes on the PDAs - 1 needs to be brute forced (John always gets it wrong and kills the occupant Each line is unique - you may find it easier to look at the dots on the right hand corner of each chemical.

This was definately the most brutal puzzle I have experienced yet and had to cheat too.

This was one of my favorite puzzles, it reminded me of exciting paper chases back when I was in the Boys Scouts in primary school and you had to hunt down clues from one place to the next.

This puzzle added more meat to the game than the straightforward use-item-with-hotspot type and I like how they messed with our brains here: I searched all over for the missing clue until I realized that you can just try all the combinations for the remaining part, iirc there's only two options for the molecular setting and two for the anesthetic and that one so that's 4 clicks of guessing at the most until you get it right.

Easy to solve once you realize that but not overly obvious because you'll have self-limited your mind to follow visible clues, all in all a very nice puzzle. It could have been made to be way more tricky but puzzles that take too much time can break immersion and the flow of the game.
There's dedicated puzzle games for that sort of thing, e.g. Sokobond where you can push around atoms and molecules all day long if you wish so, without a story.

We wanted to have at least one 'pen and paper' puzzle - don't worry if you found it hard, I also had to make notes to remember the sequence and in the end used a cell phone to grab the screen for quick plays. :)

I also had to do a quick sketch of the key for setting the destination of the container transport to the medical bay. This was another puzzle that could have been easily turned into a more challenging and complicated "sliding block" type of puzzle but in hindsight I was glad it wasn't because it would then have felt like an unrealistic self-serving road block puzzle of the kind that most other games have.

Nonetheless, I wonder where the "kitchen knife" key setting would have led to. Would be funny if one could set a wrong destination and then get killed on arrival but in the context of the story, it makes sense that John will only want to head to the medical bay straight away.

Thank you for explaining it. Still seemed a bit convoluted in terms of just playing a guessing game with some of those numbers. Would be interesting to see if there are any metrics on how many people got stuck on this point and for how long.

It is part of the story - and only a very simple possible combo. John (the player) kills the occupant because he doesn't wake him up properly - so in reality you always get it wrong :)

Ugh. It didn't occur to me to brute force it, because I figured if you give him the wrong dose, it'd kill him. Overthinking a puzzle does me in yet again.

Omg, the last one, that was brutal.
I though I just missed that and tried just to guess and that's why I failed to open the pod correctly (I didn't reload and proceeded the game).
But the idea behind it explained by devs is brilliand. I feel cheated, but still satisfied :D

Thanks for clarifying that you can't save the poor guy. I was very worried I had missed on some extra content.

I found this puzzle a nice one too; limiting the maximum dosage for the unknown chemical was a sensible move.

Necro post. Playing this for the first time. I can't help but feel a little cheesed by this part. Once I realized there were clues to this I spent 2 hours combing the area and drawing out the symbols on paper so I could keep them all straight. Most of that time was looking for a 6th clue. I even went back to re read all the PDA entries and emails, thinking there would be some mention of a chemical that I could use.

I also assumed that it wouldn't be possible to brute force, I assumed the first time you clicked go it would be right or wrong and kill him. I guess I really wanted to save the poor dude. I liked the puzzle overall, I'm a big fan of the pen and paper kinda stuff. I was hoping for a win condition that would keep him alive, at least for a couple seconds, or long enough for him to die of other causes I guess.

Hey there. On our new game we are adding more alternative solutions and results for the actions that the player undertakes because of the awesome feedback for guys like yourself. :)

This one was a challenge and after looking up the solution I still don't fully understand the logic behind it.

Head is easy as the clue is obvious.
Head - 4 Bars - 2 Dots

The others don't show the body clearly.
2 clues have 3 dots.
1 clue has 4 dots.
1 clue has 5 dots.

So set them all to 3 and determine which ones look like the chemical diagram. The doses for them are also shown.

This gives you Torso and Upper Thighs.

One of the remaining areas doesn't go above 3 dots. Set the other 2 areas to 4 dots and compare diagram. The one that doesn't match must be the 5 dots.

This gives you Spine and Legs.

A complication is that clues for 4 and 5 were on PDAs. I hadn't associate them with the puzzle at first. Then I had difficulty interpreting what they meant once I did.

One area remains (Lower Thighs) but there are no further clues. I guess you're suppose to try different doses and chemicals until something happens.
