Medical Section Comments (spoilers)
I just beat the medical section today and.. wow that was brutal, I had a hard time looking at the operation going on behind John. I was just trying to focus on not messing up, and yes I screwed up once and yikes that was gross. That whole part felt like the surgery scene in prometheus, something about self surgery is freaking scary.

I messed up the first time as well but it was worth it just to see the animation :)

The other deaths aren't so detailed due to the perspective so this close up shot was a visual treat.

ya it was cool getting a change of perspective for that part, made it much better.

Thanks guys. We spent 3 months on that scene - there are so many little thing happening to make it all work cohesively. We conceptualized it before Prometheus, but we took advantage of the fact that we could see what worked on Prom - and what didn't. There is some concept art that we did for it a few years back - it is in the deluxe pack. The puzzle was originally much tougher - but we reworked it to let the player (hopefully) die at least once (to get the idea) to see that cool animation - and then complete it on their second try,

Yeah. I just played through that "mini-game?" heh, and loved it. Wish more games did stuff like that. It was perhaps even more brutal than the infamous Eye Scene from Dead Space 2, my mouth certainly was agape when I "failed" the first time since I was kind of slow on the uptake and didn't press the right nodes in time.

Bravo on making such an excellent scene work!

Yes, and it's most delicious! The whole surgery scene is already an unpleasant affair for John but if you screw up, he's gonna have "bad day"...

But don't worry about missing out on it, you can surely find it somewhere on Youtube. There's got to be some longplays of the game by now.

I'm planning to replay the whole games just so I can look at everything again in one fluid session like a movie (except for the data pad logs, they take a lot of time to read so I'm fine with having done that just once, especialy since the text is so very small)

I know this is a year later, but I am finally playing this game. I have had to leave it for awhile because of the surgery. No matter what, it ends badly. I have checked out the YouTube video and am not sure what I am doing wrong. Right before I get to the Numbered circles on the spine the voice lets me know there is an error-subject not properly prepared. Previous to that I click on the list of things to do. I wait till it turns red before I click on it (that is what it shows on video w/t. Any help from you?

Ok This is always the case for me. I get majorly stuck on something, post for help, then go back in and Voila! I get past that point. So after killing him gruesomely a # of times, I got through after posting this.
Thank goodness.
What was that thing munching on the dead body after the surgery????
