Why the hint for the bottle Sucks (Project Seed Spoilers)
I stopped playing the game 2 months ago because I was horribly stuck in the Project Seed area. I destroyed the robot, found the three women and read every text in the lab. But I didn't understand what I was supposed to do next. There was a locked door with a power pad in front of it but that didn't seem to do anything.

Today I tried again, but I still couldn't figure out what the game wanted me to do, so I finally watched a let's play on youtube. Now I'm mad, reallly MAD at the game. Never, EVER would I have found that solution. Not in a million year. SPOILER:

Put the nitrogen bottle in front of that locked door and shoot it?!? That is NOT logical! Why?
1) It is a solid metal door. A nitrogen-bottle explosion wouldn't shatter that!
2) In the whole game these doors are unlocked by codes and computers.
3) The supposedly 'helpful' clue on that terminal? Badly drawn. I thought that 'N' was an electricity symbol, you know, the same one you see on all those powerpads all over the place.
Also, the 'explosion' looks more like a hole in shattered glass, so I thought the drawing meant you had to blast through a window to get to a battery for power the powerpads or something like that.
And finally, there's no door in the drawing. Only a note with the word SEED on it. But that doesn't mean anything to a player who doesn't know where that locked door leads to.

It is a shame, because the rest of the puzzles were quite good, but this one was so bad I didn't want to play the game no more.

If you explore the mutagen labs you will find a page from a manual on one of the pc's that has a brief illustration of how the power pads work. Then, if you check one of the other pc's there is a crude drawing of the nitrogen canister being shot. We also added a broken powerpad in the first room that lights up when moved over. Sorry if it was a bit obscure!

The fact that the drawing is crude was the problem. I thought the nitrogen bottle was a battery, and the explosion a hole.

Also, I didn't even realize the man in the manual was standing on a powerpad! That tiny circle needed to be bigger and have a electricity sign on it.

And even now I know the solution, I still don't understand the relation between standing on that pad and shooting the gun. Sorry.

Cool man, appreciate the comment anyway :)

The rest of the game is fantastic, I'm glad I backed it on kickstarter. I just hate being forced to use a walkthrough in an adventure game. I wish there was something in between "being stuck for hours" and "cheating by looking at the solution". Perhaps a subtle audio hint after the player has walked around the same area more than 2 hours? (yes I did that).

I will try to beat it tonight, it's the last game I wanted to play before Fallout 4. :-)

Thanks for this post, because I was stuck at this same point with absolutely no clue what to do. I saw the post-it on the terminal with the sketch of the gun shooting something, but couldn't see any reason to link it to the door, let alone to my goal. Why would someone in the lab leave notes on how to blow up a door for me? Makes no sense at all.

I put it down to boredom! :) It was a little tongue in cheek for this clue, I do agree this puzzle set is a slight bit vague. Hope it didn't ruin the experience. - Chris

I don't know, man. i'm a simple gamer. I see a closed door while having a gun and I try to shoot it. I don't know why are you all talking about clues :S

i'm serious...I tried, something happened. I have a canister. Canisters go boom. there. done it. :S
