How do you manually save?
How do you save manually so you don't need to rely on the very sketchy autosave system? There's no save button and my load button pretty much doesn't work. Only the contínue button does what it is suppose to do.

It's no fun finding a new item, killing yourself with it and being thrown back into a earlier section that I completed long ago.

Hey Master Tang.

No problem,

So on the save load menu, select any empty slot and then click save on the right.
You can also select a slot that has a savegame in it already - but it is probably best to select an empty one.

So,

Click the slot
Click save on the right

to Load,

Repeat but click load.

Enjoy!

This is how my menu looks under save/load, I can't go anywhere where I can save a game. I am playing the game right now and still can't find it.

Ok, now I get it. I am either dumb or you guys need to make it more obvious that you need to select a box before saving :P

Thanks for the help!

Sorry about that. We are using a MUCH more traditional interface for save load on our new game which will make life simpler :)

Autosave feature is occasionally terrible.
Not being able to skip dialogue compounds the issue.

So i decided to commit suicide by glove and then was returned to the SEED wing. At that point i had not picked up the item required to form the key...

So there's at least two slow cinematics as well as multiple manipulation steps required.

To the game's credit however, at the cryo-stasis patient chamber in medical, (somehow) i think i double-tapped ESC by accident, and the game reverted to the turret room with the turrets back alive and i was instantly shot (game seemed to load me into an insta-kill scenario). I quit, upset, and came back to continue game only to find myself at the stasis patient room again....

But a well working autosave and the option to skip dialogue would be much appreciated.

Hey Sachiel - this was added in CAYNE.
IN STASIS and in terms of the autosave - you need to save before suicides. You could also hit escape to go to the menu which creates an autosave then head back to the game - this will create a save at the last point the menu was accessed.

Lol, my mind was just blown away when i tried to save the game and it worked. I thought it was some bug not letting me save earlier and the missing " Save game" menu on the list. :lunar2019coolpig:

Wow, I hadthe same problem now. WHAT A CONFUSING UI.

Sorry about that. In Bone Totem we added quick save and load and a ton of other features. The slightly obscure system was due to the engine we used.

Just bought this today. Very cool opening. Fun start. But then when going to save, like others experienced, it was annoying and pulls you out of the game to have to go research how to save. This feels like that portion of the game is floppy disk old school. Had no idea you needed to select a box....but now it seems obvious. Should have been better implemented. I get that your newer games have a more modern feature, but surprising that a 2015 game (not exactly ancient) had this problem. You guys seem to LOVE this game and genre, when testing the game how did this not be realized? Just being a small team you missed it? Anyway, you deserve credit for a cool game so far! Just leaving honest feedback here.
