you guys are amazin (pre-emptive thanks)
ps. i've still got other issues with the mute/solo buttons. i find theres times when the mute/solo buttons on the console are not in sync with the mute/solo buttons on the track view. Also got issues intermittently when doing on the fly groupings and using combinations of ctrl and/or shift + mouse clicks..but as they happen intermittently its hard to try an re-produce a set of circumstances where it happens that i can document for you guys to try. I've even had it one time where the global Solo button was lit up, but no tracks/busses/outputs where muted or solod and there was no sound playing. Currently i had a loop going where the console has 1 track muted and 1 track solod, and in the track view both tracks are muted but one is also solo'd. bit inconsistent.. I'll post a screenshot
That gets pretty regular attention from QA and you'll get notifications on the status!
I've sent a support email via the cakewalk website. As i've tried this route before im not hopeful of it actually getting there, but will check my yahoo email for an automated response to see if its been received at all.
here's the text of what i sent just in case...
"having issues with the Mute /Solo buttons on the console view & track view. I can get the buttons into some weird states which shouldn't be possible. Seth asked me on Steam to raise a support ticket on here, but I've tried before on other issues and had no response, but i'll try again.
There seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the states of the track view and console view and some of the states i've managed to get it into just shouldn't be possible.
I'm able to provide some screen shots of projects where I've got mute/& solo buttons lit up on the console but the track view doesn't have the same state. I've got a screenshot of an 8 track project where I've got 4 tracks muted, and 4 tracks not muted its in play/loop mode, yet I hear nothing when I should be hearing 4 tracks. I've got another screenshot, where i've got nothing muted or solo'd on the console yet the global mute button is lit up (just how?), and of 8 tracks ive only got 4 playing. There seems to be no option here though o upload screenshots even though Seth's asked me to contact cakewalk support, please advise?
This M/s button behaviour seems massively broken to me. I've been using cakewalk products for a long while now, and your console mute/solo button behaviour seems to be just getting worse (for me at least)... it becomes broken also when I start using grouping and doing things like putting the mute/solo button of a channel into a toggle state. I had similar issues in Sonar X3(e) which I also tried to raise a long while ago.
One of the other things that's really killing me is fast clicking on the mute/solo buttons, if I solo a track then instantly click on it again to un-solo it, it doesn't work. Same for the mute button. There's a 'discussion' on Steam about this and has been verified by another user. This 'bug' was introduced with the May 2016 update. As I said I have screenshots I can provide, I can even send you the projects if necessary. "
Re: The slow Mute/Solo button issue is in with development right now. I'm just waiting on a build to test and see if it's improved.
Re: The out of sync buttons, unfortunately we still need to repro that in house, but it's on our radar. There's a few different logged cases on this, so we'll continue to investigate.
If I can systematically reproduce these M/S button issues myself - and I can with at least 1 of them I'm sure, but some of them 'just happen' when im in full flow trying various on-the-fly groupings while in loop mode - i'll try and sort out a step by step guide. if i sit down for a session with Sonar SE for a few hours buttons will mess up several times over an evening so should have a few opportunities :)
I'll PM you my e-mail. Please send the project if you can!
You probably don't need to include any audio data, just the project file.
Also, I just tested a proposed slowness fix on the mute/solo button clicks today. I believe the issue is resolved. This was on a VM machine though, and I need to test natively to verify.
