Sonar Steam Edition --- Guitar Rig 5?
Howdy! Does anyone know if Sonar Steam Edition (which is currently on sale -- yippee!) will work with Guitar Rig 5 (Native Instruments)? I know Guitar Rig is your standard VST plugin (yadda yadda) --- but, I wasn't sure if the Sonar Steam Edition supports Guitar Rig 5 VST specifically. I have an MBOX mini (Pro Tools) as an interface. It would be great if Sonar Steam Edition work would with both that MBOX mini and Guitar Rig 5. Any thoughts?

Re: Guitar Rig 5 - it should work fine. You'll just need to point SONAR's VST scanner to the location of the NI plugins. We have a lot of users (and developers in house) who use NI plug-ins.

Re: MBOX Mini - AVID interfaces haven't historically been the best hardware for non-protools daws. Do you know which version of the hardware you have? The newer ones, Version 3, work better with their standalone ASIO drivers.

If you want - you can try the SONAR Demo at our site first to test: https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Try-SONAR

If you do decide to buy on Steam after having the demo from our site, make sure you perform a clean install first to minimize any potential issues: https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013372/Clean-Install-All-Cakewalk-Software

Hopefully we'll have the Steam Demo back up soon, but we've run into some technical problems and that's blocked us from re-releasing it.
