Advent Revising v2.0 - unofficial cinematics patch

Hey guys, I've just finished the newest version of my fan patch, Advent Revising. Check out the website for more information on v2.0:

This version of Advent Revising features major improvements over the original patch. Version 2.0 also tries to make the new player experience as smooth as possible by providing a selection of config files for a variety of resolutions.

They can broadly be considered "filler" cutscenes since they lack any dialogue or story, but I personally think they enhance the atmosphere and fill in a few details, particularly with the Seekers attacking Bahr Han. They were likely made for the Xbox version to hide the long load times, which weren't necessary on PC.

Thank you very much. Oh my, 8 minutes! I think they add a more cinematic feel too. Its a shame that they were deleted in our version, and that the sequels were canceled. What great game it was for its time. I still have the retail boxed release.

thx mate for info. installed and works like a charm. those cutscenes removed from original pc release are good for story. dunno why they removed them in first place. i don't mind even their lower quality.

This could either be an error in the unzipper program or that part of the .rar didn't fully download. Part 8 should be 45.1 megs, so check to see if it matches your download, and that should tell us whether it downloaded completely or not.

I don't have experience in ZZip, but have you tried any other programs?

I have downloaded it more than once. It is 45.1 MB and I tried another extracter IZarc it says bad block "Movies lv17_sc01_4b". Can I just delete that one movie file?

Yeah, I imagine so. The last time this happened with v1.0, the issue was the upload site was serving up a bad file that had somehow been corrupted over time. If deleting the movie file doesn't work, try the mirror on MediaFire as a quick test.

Nope the mirror is just the same. I just tried WinRAR a third extractor and it states this. "You need to start extraction from a previous volume to unpack Movies\lv17_sc01_4.bik"

Reddit: I just played the movie file it runs for 20 seconds and seems ok from the zzip and IZarc extraction, but WinRAR won't even extract it. I just get on with the game and see how it goes.

Thanks to Setz for the fan patch and also people for reviving this thread! I was looking for a 1080p/16:9 resolution fix and the Advent Revising config files made it possible.

A note about the cutscenes rar files: Some of the files in the archives do NOT extract properly with 7zip either. I tried PeaZip and the 2.6 GB full version of the cutscenes appear to have been extracted correctly. There is something definitely "non-standard" with the sets of rar archives on that site.

Thanks! I'll have to look into this and see if I can determine the cause. Unfortunately the extraction was the last place where I expected to encounter problems.

Im having a problem, after I extract to the advent rising folder and replace the files and then click install it and then it saids next volume is required and mentions a disc on the bottom? What do I do here?
