Advent Revising v2.0 - unofficial cinematics patch
Hey guys, I've just finished the newest version of my fan patch, Advent Revising. Check out the website for more information on v2.0:

Advent Revising[www.miketyndall.com]

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=487493011

- Higher quality Xbox-exclusive cutscenes
- More videos, every movie completely re-edited
- Visual enhancements to cutscenes
- Massively improved lip-syncing
- Partial Xbox One controller support

This version of Advent Revising features major improvements over the original patch. Version 2.0 also tries to make the new player experience as smooth as possible by providing a selection of config files for a variety of resolutions.

Be sure to browse the FAQ section as well: http://www.miketyndall.com/setz/Advent%20Revising/faq.html

Thanks for checking out the patch!

You shouldn't need to uninstall anything, but make sure to pick a similar pack or higher than what you got last time. So if you picked up the Lite pack with v1.0, pick up Lite v2.0 or Full v2.0. That will minimize any issues, particularly with subtitles.

Ok well, it worked like a charm. Amazing work with the subtitles, now they are readable even at 4K. Do you know if there is a way to hide the crosshair?
I want to take some pic but this damn thing on the center of the screen is a pain

If you go into your options and then into Game Options, you can turn on Auto Aiming Mode. That gets rid of the crosshair. It's a pretty strange name for the feature, really!

Are the cinematics supposed to be really grainy, or did i install the patch wrong?

Advent Rising upscales the cinematics automatically to your resolution, and the base game's cutscenes are either 1024x576 or 640x360. What you're probably seeing is the original compression artifacts being blown up in size, which is unfortunately unavoidable with and without the patch.

Hey Setz, I love your mod. Thanks for all your hard work!

I'm using your 1920x1080 config files, and in one of the .ini files I found a line "DetailTextures=False".

Do you know if changing this to true has any effect in game?

Yeah, it does. Here's a comparison I whipped up real quick:

Basically it adds noise to some textures via overlay to make it appear higher quality than it is. Personally I don't think it looks better, but that's just me.

You can check out the Unreal Engine site for more details: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/Materials/HowTo/DetailTexturing/index.html
