Controller not working, pls help!

Hello, I've been trying to play this game with the Occulus headset and a Game controller, but the controller doesn't work. It works in the main menu but during the race the car won't move and when I open the ingame menu its scrolling really fast without me pressing any button so I can't select anything.

I tried an Xbox One controller, and a Nintendo Switch Controller and both do the same thing. Then I try without the VR headset, and unpluged the keyboard and mouse and it still does the same thing. Anyone has any idea what this could be? I got this game to play with the VR and controller :(

No I set up the controller on Steam and it works on the Steam setup just not in the game. When the VR Headset is on, I can't move the car and the menu is stuck scrolling. When the VR headset is off the menu still does the same thing, but I can move the car with the controller. Maybe the game gets confused with the VR controllers? But I don't know why the ingame menu is stuck.
