Jack Spade FFB is long outdated. Try out "PopsRacer FFB - now with SETA real tire physics v2021.05.23" at RaceDepartment. this is a whole nwe level if FFB, but won't solve the rest of the problems with PCARS2.

There are setup recommendations in the readme for all kinds of wheels and bases, ranging from Logi G27 to DD.

You need to be registered at RD to download the files.

choose the appropriate one for your wheel base and rename it to ffb_custom_settings, overwriting the one already in the pcars2 user data file

So the complete text in that file and then overwrite that file ?

Yes, you're not changing anything IN the file, just the name of it. Set the name of it to ffb_custom_settings.txt and save it in documents\project cars 2. Whatever the game sees in that file will be used as the "custom" setting in-game for the FFB. Keep the originals somewhere else in case you ever want to change which one you are using.

Once that's in place you set the in-game options to custom and then after a bit of driving you will want to edit the sliders to your preference. There should be a "readme" or "notes" file that will tell you what the sliders do, as it will probably be a little different from how the standard FFB works.

You'll need to adjust the Volume slider from car to car because the game has some cars with stronger feedback than others so some might be too strong and cause clipping. I've found it mostly needs to be changed with vintage cars vs modern cars, but each one might require a minor adjustment. Mapping a couple keys to increase/decrease the Volume on the fly will help make that easier. You feel it but you can see how much clipping there is in the telemetry on your HUD -- you'll want to have the last bar on the right with as little red as possible.

Okay, I've downloaded the newest version of popsracer since none of that seemed to be in the older one I had. Those are referring to some variables he's using within the text file itself. They're near the beginning under a big heading "USER VARIAB:ES."

It looks like this one doesn't have a readme text file anymore. There's a little bit of explanation at the beginning of the FFB file, and some more in the PDF that is for some reason downloaded separately from race department(it's the only thing that actually gets downloaded if you click the download button on there). Be sure to keep a copy of the original version in case something goes wrong.

I see there's also an updated version of Christiaan's FFB which is the one I was using too. Guess I have some stuff to play around with when I next come back to this game.
