Good track for learning
Hi guys!
I've bought the game yesterday and it's very hard (exactly as I expected it to be), so I'm wondering, on which track should I practice? Does it matter at all? Thanks for help :)

No I don't think it matters. But I would pick a popular one to learn first ie brands hatch, spa, imola.
Oulton park, longbeach

First off, what class of race car are you looking to practice with?

If GT series, go Spa or Imola.

If Open Wheel (Formula) series, go Azure or Spa.

If Indycar series, go Indianapolis Oval, or Long Beach

If NASCAR series, go Daytona or Texas Ovals.

If RX series, go Dirtfish, you get three variants of track to practice on.

If Road Series, California Highway and Azure Highway are perfect for learning on.

If Go Karts, several tracks are avaliable for Go Karts only, and they're all equally good.

If LMP series, go Le Mans or Daytona Road Course, as they are both part of the WEC roster.

If Super Trofero (Lamborghini series), Le Mans Bugatti or Imola.

If Porsche Cayman series, go Laguna Seca or Hockenheim.

If Touring Car series, go Zolder or SUGO.

If GR series, go Road America or Fuji.

If GTO series, go Indianapolis Road Course or Texas Motor Speedway Road Course.

If Ginetta series, go Brands Hatch or Brno.

If Trackday series, go Watkins Glen or Road America.

All these tracks are perfect for practicing handling the different power/suspension/steering differences for each cars, and learning to tame them all in the environments they were designed to be used in. Make sure to have your Force Feedback settings tuned to how you want if you have a wheel, and use Cockpit view for that real driver experience. But most importantly, have fun!

Thanks a lot guys!
I really appreciate all your comments :)

Grab your favourite car and go Nordschliefe, so much variance, if you are fast there you will be fast anywhere. Also COTA is a technical track with many different types of corners.

If you struggle on Imola and Spa, you need to work on throttle control and braking zones, because these are literally the easiest tracks to learn GT series cars on, they consist of long, fast straights than shift into tight corners, as well as tricky chicanes and long sweeping corners. All the elements that make GT racing fun and challenging wrapped up into two very easy to learn and rather short circuits, Imola especially.

F1 does testing at Catalunya for good reason, with the exception of Laguna Seca's corkscrew, Catalunya features all of the turns you will ever run into at a track.

Pick a car that you like and just start driving it. If you want a small track to focus on, try Brands Hatch Indy. If you want a track that will throw everything imaginable at you, learn Nordschliefe (nurburgring's long section).

Try Brands Hatch, Monza, Silverstone classic, Willow springs or Dubai. They are reasonably short, easy to learn but hard to master. The shortness means that you can try them over and over again, which you will nead to test the brake points and finding the optimum for taking the corners. Dubai is especially easy to learn but tough to master, but even if you go off track there is beton and you won't wreck your car on the beton wall. Oh and get a nice car, the 200ccm gokart is suprisingly fun and easy to begin with.

Don't try: Azure coast and california highway. They are great for cruising around but are very long and their layout is very difficult.

Also don't try: Nordschleife is as long as Azure coast and Callifornia, full with tricky corners and occasional jumps if you don't have enough downforce. The GT1 McLaren doesn't have enough downforce there in every situation for a reference at default settings, and that car has a grip like it has been glued to the ground. There is a reason why so few have the winter soldier achievement, even though it is acutally one of the easiest achievements if you know the layout. Spa can get very tricky for beginners too with its second corner, especially with older cars.

edit: Begin with a modern car. A GT3 can be a good guess, but Formula cars work well too. Cars before the 70's have generally problem with downforce and breaks. Cars in the 80's are sometimes very difficult to drive because of the turbo. Cars in the 90's still have downforce problems, again. Supercars are generally too heavy for the track compared to their GT counterparts and doesn't come with slicks which makes everything very slippery. And there are some cars which are notoriously difficult to drive, like the McLaren F1, the old Lotus formula cars (especially on cold tires) or the Super7.

The Red Bull Ring ( I think thats the name) also GT3 cars are good fun and pretty easy to drive.

If you have the japanese car pack, try the civic type-r (with no abs). Because it's front wheel Drive, it's really easy to drive (i give that to my mother when she wants to drive ^^), and you still need throttle control to be fast.
About tracks, avoid ones with too much straights, because you loose Time doing nothing. Avoid ones with no straights, because you also need a bit of time to think about how you want to manage the next turn.

Any game but this one, try Assetto corsa or possibly Revs on the BBC micro Model B, they have less launch issues.
