Seriously though there are a lot of other car sims out there for people who just want an accurate racing sim, RFactor2, AMS2 and ACC being possible contenders for great racing sims with good driving feel but less variation and 'fun'. I always enjoyed the other aspects of PC - the sense of speed, the graphics, the nose to nose racing, the career, the variation of cars and tracks, the variety of different styles of racing available to try out (I still haven't even tried the motor cross yet!).
So I am interested to see what they come up with for PC3 and the career etc, I just hope I can run it ok. I am pretty sure it will blow everything else out of the water as PC and PC2 both did, but remain to be finally convinced.
INFURIATING DIASPPOINTMENT
It has to be a simulation, not c r a p p y arcade, if you want arcade go play FH 4
Also, CARS is Community Assisted Racing Simulator, as PC1 was basically with help of the community, so as the community helped at least a bit with PC2 too . . now "Project CARS 3" lost both C and S from CARS.
If they dont want to make simulators anymore, dont put "Simulator" on the title, much less "Community" as it was not what the community wanted.
Yes, now they can make the games they want and sell it for whatever they want, but they wont see my money if that is the case and I believe the money of a lot of other people (also if that is the case, not from me but I believe a lot of people will gladly make mockery about PC3 on release).
Throwing a brand to garbage to make a bit more money is a bad idea that may end up killing the brand itself as a whole (if it dont end up killing the studio behind too if that end as a failure).
The backlash against on social media and youtube is already there before release, do the math, after release if PC3 is nothing of a simulator even with all assists off, the backlash against will be even worst and it may very well affect the sales, like a lot.
Project cars has been at its core a game with a tone of customisation and if they can make a game that can be both forza and assetto corsa they they have a very versitile game appealing to both communities. I think thats what they are going for, but again we do not know at this point. No one has had their hands on this game and currently the developers say they have improved the simulator aspect as well as acrade, but thats just their word. Until its released its all speculation. No reason to complain about something we don't know anything about.
If the term "simulator" can be used to anything that resembles an Idea of driving, but sell or sold well and have good graphics simulation, then any NFS could be considered a top sim for its time.
You dont sell a game as a simulator, deliver no simulation in terms of real life phisics, and expect to be taken seriously. That is no arguing neither argument against that.
Again, lets hope I am wrong and PC3 without any assists is a simulation ... Or else it wont deserve the S neither the C and should be renamed as Project AR for Assisted Racing.
People got skeptical for that and not giving enough credits for the "simulation" footage the way they showed ... It can very much be at the NFS Shift or GRID lvl of simulation or less for that driving.
Although it is also possibly that they just increased the degree of their various assists to make it that way, or created a setting that makes the game more arcady. I mean the best game is one that can sell to both market. Why would they just not want to make money when they already have the simulator physics. They probibly worked on an acrade mode so they could expand their audience.
Or its all arcade garbage and the developer has lied to us about improving the simulation and the drifting video was faked. And that may very well be the case. But the bottom line is that we don't know. We don't know didly squat about this game. We have 2 very different gameplay trailers one showing arcade trash and the other showing some pretty nice drifting and 1 ugly reveal trailor. We will know when the reviewers get their hands on it and either tie this thing to a steak and burn it or put it up on a raised platform bowing before its excellence.
The arcade footage leave no room for wrong conclusions, it is arcade, the "non-assisted" footage left room for wrong conclusions, even more after that "NFS Underground"-like of the arcade footage and the trailer that leave the NFS feeling.
