project cars 3 is garbage
looks like codemasters ruined this series and pcars 3 looks like one of codemasters' garbage racing games filled with bad visual effects, made up championships and racing series and crappy "simcade" driving and generic cars. codemasters dont know anything about racing games they just got lucky with how good grid, dirt 1 2 3 and the toca games turned out to be. also this game looks the same as pcars 2 just with ♥♥♥♥ codemasters visuals and they also added customization for some reason but it looks like it lacks real world racing series and motorsport elements. ♥♥♥♥ codemasters

You know what they say about opinions?
Rakade Jun 3, 2020 @ 4:39pm
the game did not even come out yet, how can you have such an opinion?
codemasters are really good at making a game better oriented for single player, when nfs shift came out, that was the thing i most enjoyed about it, the upgrading system, the cars i had to buy, and the general feel of the game, while it is still felt in pc2, its not the same and i think codemasters are going to help on that regard a lot.

wait for the game to come out and dont be a child

Technically Slightly Mad should still be maintaining its own team despite being a subsidiary of Codemasters. Let's hope they can keep up the PC1/2 standard.

Obviously is not even out yet, we have only a trailer so far.
PC3 was announced in Dec 18, Codemasters bought SMS in Nov 19, so I can't see them influencing them that much.

Budging by what is on their website they seem to have focused on aspects asked by the community.

To quote Ian Bell:
I’ll let you know that pCARS3 will be more ‘focused’… More ‘fun’… We went to insane lengths with variation in pCARS2 and with that comes infinite balancing issues. We’ve learned a lesson here and although we have no intention of reducing content, we know what we need to fix, where we made design decisions that were, let’s call it, ‘sub-optimal’…

pCARS3 will be more of a spiritual successor to Shift, but with all of the sim goodness everyone appreciates… The key focus though is on fun and not biting off more than we can properly chew and digest.

Judging by their words it seems like a 'proper' sequel to PC2 but with more gameplay/progress options both for SP and MP. On paper seems amazing, I wouldn't be too worried.

Pete Morrish also said:
The physics engine and the simulation under the hood - it's not exactly the same as it was before, but it's exactly as sim-focussed as it was before. Anybody looking at this coming to similar conclusions to you, they don't need to be worried.

One of the concerns with presenting things as simulation is it can be quite pro-faced, it can be quite dry, and we wanted to make it much more friendly, much more supportive, much more democratic, so new players could come along and learn at their own pace and get to the point where we as racing game fans, as simulation fans are. At any point in that continuum from beginner to proper esports racer, you can find your level and find your enjoyment.

Yeah I have seen them yesterday, I'm not impressed either; it's still advertising material though, what I meant is we don't have any 'actual' gameplay vid from players or reviewers.

Oof...gotta admit it does give off that GRID 2019 vibe somewhat. Forza(not Horizon) is attempting to achieve the better reality simulation route with each new release, but looks like PC3 here is doing the exact opposite going more arcade.

Welp, there will always be Asserto Corsa I suppose.

You played it? Lol
By the way, if you don't like PCars3, then don't buy it. Other people may like it just fine.

Hmm street racing :-(

I hope there is a lot more to PC3 than that.

I hate the sound of 'car upgrades' that's just typical lame unrealistic stuff that I tend to hate in console racing games. I don't like the sound of unlockable tracks either. Again more unrealistic gamey stuff that we have in loads of other games that I have deliberately stayed away from. I play PC2 for the realistic UK career - real GT cars, real UK tracks, real GT/LMP progression. That is all I want.

I bet they dont even have mouse menu control in the new game like F1 2019. Consoles grrr.

I am trying to stay positive but tbh this is sounding like its going to be absolute pants! Codemasters might have just ruined the whole game for me. If its going down the Forza route I definitely wont be buying it. And until now PC has been one of my all time favourite games.

I was really hoping they would introduce mid races saves to enable long Endurance races, and perhaps enhance the career by adding some sort of race team management aspects like F1 2020 is doing. But it sounds like they are going in completely the wrong direction instead with the new game - arcade street racing with unlockables. That is like the WORST thing I could have heard.

PC was always THE serious GT/LMP sim and now it might be just going all Forza! I am soooo disappointed :-(

I don't think they will remove anything of that, feature wise. And they have said that this arcadey style is one part of the game, we can still race "sim like". The question is, to what extent...

It's not about a huge sweeping change to the overall game, it's more about keeping what was there for the people who loved it and helping more people along the way make those steps into sim racing.

Speaking of ED, has the whole Milky Way been fully explored by the community after all these years?

Don't be daft lol. It's supposedly about 0.036% of the galaxy has so far been explored by the community. I am happy to say that one barren rock of a planet on the way to the Pleiades has my name to it!

Right, just Googled it and apparently it's a pretty silly question. :steammocking:

Guess the devs will have to put in the wormholes at some point to help out. No one's gonna be able to finish this game in one life time.
