Can anyone help with Tobii Eyetracker 4C?
I recently read that this game supports Tobii 4C, and wanted to give it a try.
I followed the instructions given in the games forums (start SteamVR, Helmet Camera, Windowed Mode,...) but still the game does not pickup eye or head movement. The Gaze Trace of Tobii works in the game, but there is no movement.
Is there any setting I missed, to make it work?
Thanks for your help in advance

Thanks for the link, but that is exactly what is was referring to, when I said I followed the instructions given in their forums.
It did not work, though.
So there must be something else I'm missing.

You are unfortunately using something that very few people use. The official forum will be your best place to get assistance.

You might have to manually switch to helmet cam(X button on my logitech G920). as long as the Tobii and Tobii GameHub software are installed you shouldnt have any issues. I also play in fullscreen with no problems.

You might need 'shared memory' turned on in the game menu, required for TrackIR in Pcars.

I'm definitely on helmet cam and shared memory is on as well. Which mode of shared memory do mean by the way? I thing there are 2 different ones.

I have the 4c working and love it. in steam llibrary i tick play in steam vr mode and use helmet cam but don't use windowed mode (not sure if anything is to be gained by doing so). you may have to configure game to interact with external apps in game menu. i will look at my game menus and reply further. there may be more menu items that need to be disabled. Also, did you install tobii software and do eye calibration?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, everything is in order. I have it working in other apps. Additionally, when using FaceTrackNoIR I manage to make it kind of run as well. It is just not as smooth as it would be with direct integration.
If you could check the other settings, that would be great.
Cheers

In game main menu i have Options/system/shared memory =Project Cars 2 UDP frequency = 1 UDP protocal version = Project Cars 2
---------
You can set TobiiEye Scale 0,2 - 6.0 and Range 0.1 - 1.0 Defaut Scale = 1.0 Default range = 0.7
you can alter this by right clicking on Project Cars 2 in steam game library and then tick properties/launch options - in the dialog box that appears type "-TobiiEye 0.95 0.6" (my setting for example) first number is scale and second number is range.

cameras - setting cameras to your liking is critical as to viewing access to rear and side view mirrors, gauges, and simply looking up down and side to side. i'm pretty sure you will like something different than me. I will give my settings as an example. I have a single monitor 27.5 inches wide(measured diagonally) by 13.5 inches high. game main menu/camera/field of view = all cameras = 95. field of view sensitivity = no. main menu/Camera/Movement - high speed shake = off world movement = 0. G force effect = no. show helmet = no( muffles sound of opponents engines - my preference) Helmet depth of field = no These next three work together with Tobii 4c. Experiment! currently, i have: Helmet look to apex = 0. Helmet leaning = 5(gives me a little head leaning in curves) Camera leaning = 0

main menu - Controls/Edit assignments/ Camera & View - seat forward = K. back = A . Up = W Down = S. Seat Angle Up = Z. Seat Anglle Down = C. Increase view angle = Q. Decrease view = E. Experiment excessively until you get what you want. This is your head position in cockpit. Try to eliminate fisheye effect when looking side to side. With the right seat angle(Z,C) and height(W,S) you should be able to look down enough to see a steering column mounted tach(66mustang) or up far enough to see a roof mounted rearview mirror( Ferrari 512)

Thanks for your detailed answers. Most of the settings I already tried. However, there is something else messing it up. Just can't make it work. I managed it to get it more smooth and responsive with FaceTrackNoIR in combination with the Tobii, so I guess I'll have to live with that for now.

I had the same issue where I couldn't get my Tobii 4C to work in Project Cars 2, I have had no problems using my Tobii 4C in F1 2019 so I knew that it wasn't the Tobii software.
Like other had mentioned before, my alternative was to use FaceTrackNoIR in Project Cars 2, which worked fine, but I really wanted to use the Tobii native software for eye and head tracking in PC2.

As a last resort, I decided to uninstalled all FaceTrackNoIR software from my computer. After doing that Project Cars 2 now worked perfectly with only the Tobii 4C software installed. Just remember to launch PC2 using the Steam VR option and using the helmet cam in the game.

Thanks @Bishopsgambit for your PC2 game settings for Tobii they came in handy.

I'm guessing that the FaceTrackNoIR software was somehow taking priority over the Tobii software within Project Cars 2?

There was one more thing I did (not sure if it had an impact on getting the Tobii software to work within Project Cars 2) and that was going into the Tobii GameHub software application (you might have to download it if not already installed on your computer) and making sure Project Cars 2 shows up under 'my installed games'. I then clicked on the little folder icon on the right side next to Project Cars 2, this brings up a Windows explorer, and from there I selected the pCARS2.exe file which puts it into the dialog field, and lastly click Open. Again, I'm not sure if this is a must do step.
There are a few of YouTube videos demonstrating the Tobii GameHub software and how to use it, but unfortunately not for Project Cars 2.

Hey guys, fyi in case you are wondering the Tobii 4C works perfectly within Automobilista 2, set up is the exact same as it is for Project Cars 2.

Hi guys.
I've recently had a 4c and it works fine here and in ams2.

My only problem is I hate the screen moving when I'm glancing around the screen at the ui.
I suppose there's no way to disable the eye tracking part of the software and just use the head tracking. This would be ideal for me just to look at the apex but to have it flicking around, every time I move my eyes, almost makes it a non starter :)

@Mondyrocks

You can set the Tobii range options in the game properties to almost eliminate eye tracking.

To do this you would right click on, for example, Automobilista 2 in Steam and select properties.
Then in the General tab look for 'set launch options'
Then add this line in to the field, NOTE you must include the - mark as well.
-TobiiEye 0.1 0.1

There will still be eye tracking but very minimal so that you can look at UI or apexes.
You can further tinker the -TobiiEye command line by adjusting the numbers.
Bishopsgambit gives a nice explanation of it in the above posts.
