BMW 320TC Tyre Pressures and setup [PC]
Can people please share their tyre pressures and setup tips here for the BMW 320TC?
I'm in a league and we recently did the Hockenheim GP, the car drove like absolute crap! Other cars literally pulling away from me, (BMW's and Meganes) and the car felt like it was on ice.

Just could not get it to handle at all. Running roughly 30PSI tyre pressures (Hot), tried varying camber between -2.8 to -3.8deg. And I have tried lower pressures, circa 26-28 when hot.

Felt like the tyres never came in at any stage! Can normally feel through the FFB that the grip comes in but it just never did.

Hi, you are on PC. I checked your TT run against Nouxt. You would slide out and have to catch your slide a couple of times. You are also running 24.37 PSI rear tire pressure compared to Nouxt's 20.31. Even though you had more rear camber the higher rear tire pressure was probably causing some of your handling issues.

u must learn more about building setups before u race in a league.try some tt setups and work with it to have the best feeling when u drive.
and dont forget..the megane is op in this class:2018salienbeast1:

Well he increased his front toe to 0.6 from -0.1 and cut his rear toe from 0.4(this is Default toe) to 0.0, a lot of things he could do in his setup to make things better. The other top runs are made with rear toe at 0.5 and they appear to be smoother when they turn expecially on exit where he woobles a lot. So, you are suggesting he reduces his rear toe to 0.2 from the Default of 0.4. He is already running a preload of 30, others are running 70. His power ramp is at 60 and the others are at 80. His rear ARB is 8 NM and the rest are at 4.

He actually looks like a good driver in the replays. His setup costs him dearly in a couple of places in Sector 3 especially. He has better lines through the corners than the driver in 2nd in TT but his exits cost him and the number 2 driver passes him back. The huge slide at the second to last right in Sector 3 costs him a good time, even with all that he is still in 5th at 1:47.216 +0:01.026 . If he could get a better setup he would be dangerous.

Not bad SMILER, Nouxt has some time with this car. All TekNeil needs is a setup.
Cheers for the input guys. All noted, appreciate you looking into replays etc. I think I've knackered the setup by sticking with it from different tracks and trying to change it that way, rather than start at each track with default.

I do have a few WR's with not much experience in sim racing, managed a 46.9 at Brands hatch Indy for example) but have just never felt happy with the BMW TC. Will go back to basics with it and tweak a little bit of what you suggest. Doesn't help that my G29 locked one way and I had to rive it back, ended up with a lot of play in it :-(

Hi, I think you are doing great, the BMW is the only RWD in the group. Your problem at Hockenheim is mostly Sector 3 so once you fix your setup there you are good. What are you driving with now?

Cheers mate :-) Do you mean what wheel am I driving with? Still the (Broken) G29 :-( Can't afford anything else at the moment due to house project/life stuff.
I'll be sticking with the BMW for the whole season so this weekend some time I'm going to be testing from a default setup at Donnington Park National (That's the next league race).

I tend to struggle with the FFB which doesn't help in setting the car up I don't think, I like the wheel to be heavy...But the G29 loses lots of detail with it set heavy.

Cheers guys.

Hey Neil, sorry, I thought you had been able to return your wheel. What League are you racing in?

Have you looked at this thread to adjust your wheel settings?

Oh, I did check out your Brands Hatch Indy WR setup, I thought all the changes you made were good. I guess you were making some tests at another track and that is what was loaded into your Hockenheim run with the rear tire pressures way to high.
