people are hoping/waiting for the next patch to fix a lot of issues that were in pcars1 and carried over to pcars2.
To me, they are basically the same but 2 has more tracks and cars and weather conditions.
Also remember pcars1 took around 4-6 months of patches to work half decently.
Pcars 2 I agree, it has more cars , more tracks.....improved physics, in some cases yes, but I’m not convinced it makes for a better GAME.....certainly it takes longer, imo...to get competitive and learn how to drive the cars, especially compared to pcars1.
Let’s see what the feb patch gives us
Also being able to change some gfx / sound / ffb / etc... without quiting the session is really nice.
Actually GTS is a very good game, zero issues , one of the most polished games you can play online.
Ok not a sim as such , but against humans it is a lot of fun.
To be honest they are both very similar , I just came off after a short session playing in VR, PCARS 2 is a lot better than the first game especially in VR , still got some bugs here and there but if you are playing with a joypad it is certainly a lot better than PCARS 1.
The audio in particular is pretty intense , visuals are more colourful but less realistic I think , gameplay is solid enough, a few months ago I would not have recommended the game, but if you want a racing simcade type game using a joypad , you will enjoy it , on max settings the game is quite demanding but looks great at 4k. I play it @ 1080P 144FPS it is very stable on those settings, Good luck if you decide to buy it , I doubt you will regret it , as long as your aware it still requires a few fixes here and there.
I find Pcars 1 not really a simulation more like a demo for what they can do. I was disapointed when i got the 1 but love the 2.
Edit : If you do online race go for the 2, once you get a better ranking you can have clean race.
Used to love GT but GT5 was my last purchase - I cannot listen to the constant screeching of tyres in GT anymore plus it jsut felt like it was a rehash every time with essentially new gfx for exactly the same game - it just didnt move forward (until GT Sport by adding the multiplayer aspects they did - but still based on the videos it at least looks like it feels the same).
I do wish we had scheduled races in PC2 like SRS / GT Sport / iRacing.
Some aspects of graphics in GT Sport are for sure class leading (replays - wowzer).
GT is always slick - but they wisely take their time but then they also have limitless budgets in comparison.
Nothing wrong with a fun racer - but someone calling it more realistic is a bit of a stretch thats all :)
Much better physics in pcars2, more and better tracks, weather and ffb.
But pcars2 got also lower performance and sound compared to pcars1.
I'll see how i do with a pad first them i might get a wheel and peddles even though the last game i played with a wheel was GT3 lol
SLi .. no vsync , overall medium to high settings , ultra drops frames and we don't want that,
Performance for me everytime over visuals, solid as a rock on those settings for me.(144fps)
