Thanks for that info. Trouble is loading up the game now, without even alt-tabbing clicking on the click still minimizes it to the desktop. I will just have to use the controller buttons and mouse pointer (and not touch the mouse buttons) hopefully this issue will be patched at some point.

Never worked for me maybe it dosnt work with the old launcher for the g27 .
For me this problem arose when Windows Updated two updates ago at that same point Assetto Corsa had the exact same problem (they have fixed theres for me anyway) ,maybe when things like Windows updates happen Dev's from all games should put there heads togather share a little info on how they fixed or are trying too fix there game.
The more game developers work togather on these kind of thing's the quicker and easyer problems could be solved or altenetly Microsoft can see it as a challange too see just how many games they can break in one update.
When its fixed it will mean I can get back playing as i actually like the game and have had nothing but fun so far.
just out of quriosity i plugged in a xbox 360 contol i had laying around it worked through the menues with no issue the game never flipped too windows , so i went into the GAME setting and turned the game too Windowed (NOT Steam Windowed Borderless) restarted the game,
obviously first thing i find on restarting is the horid windowed box but i notaced that the cursor bliped off which it wasnt doing before so i moved the mouse and it came back i clicked the mouse the game stayed working i went into the menus the game ran fine by this time i had unpuged the xbox 360 control and stuck my g27 back in i started a race and all was working.
So i then opened the settings again and put the game back too fullscreen and restarted to my surprise the game now is working as it should full screen with mouse control of all menu operations.
i think if you do not have a game pad if your wheel has butons too navigate the menu then this may work for you.
1. Start PC2 with Wheel or game pad plaugged in DO NOT USE the mouse navigate too the game settings using the wheel or pad.
2. Set the ingame Display too Windowed then restart PC2.
3. Start PC2 this will now be windowed test with controler first if all is good test your mouse
4. If step 3 works with mouse then return your display back too Fullscreen and restart PC2.
5. and now if you restart all should be back too normal.
6. Enjoy.
and delete it, it worked for me
