[SOLVED!] H shiffter not working properly, shift jumps from 3rd to 1st, and from 6th to 4th (g29)
Yesterday i realized that my H-Shifter of my G29 it's not working fine in project cars.

At release, i played career mode with the fomrula rookie, using the H shifter, and everything worked fine.

After that i only raced cars that use sequential shifters, so i used the paddles of my g29.

Yesterday i did an online race with the GTO class, and i discovered that when i shifted to 3rd gear, some times the game detected as i was using the 1st gear. I thought it would be a lag issue.

Today i wanted to do an offline race with my H shifter, and the problem appeared again.

After doing some testing, the error only appears when i shifted to 3rd gear, that jumps some times into 1st. And also when shifting to 6th, that jumps into 4th gear. This happends randomly, sometimes i can shift soflty, as always, but then with no reason it stards to jump from 3 to 1st, or from 6th to 4th.

I upgraded the drivers from logitech, and it keeps happening.

I also test it in other sims, like assetto, and my shifter is doing exactly the same.

I tried to remap all the shifter, and in the button setings menu, it happened again, that when i tried to map the "6th" gear it detected as i shifted to my 4th gear position.

what could be the problem?

thanks!

I have a gaming laptop. So I tried pcars 2 and my wheel on it. And the problem is still present. So it will be the sensor problem.

Its any way to fix it. Do i have to contact tech support from logitech?

if the problem is for all racing games, yes, you have to contact LOGITECH.
yes, you can fix it alone, maybe try to "clean" inside, maybe sensors get dirty.

Logitech didn't answered, so I tried to do the cleaning. I opened my driving force shifter, and i didnt know what to clean, so i only blewed a few breaths of air into it, then i checked all the wires inside, to ensure they are well pluged in, and i mounted it back together.

And... magic, it's working fine again.

So if anyone else have this problem: just open your driving force shifter (it's not much hard to do it), and check all the wires, and remove any dirt you have.

Thanks a lot mate!

I also had problems, that my shifter started not detecting 3 and 6 gear, and was jumping from 2 to 4 and 1 to 3.
Atfter I've read this post, I've decided to also clean mine.
And guess what?
5 minutes of cleaning, get rid of some black dust, and it's working perfectly now!
So thank you very much <3

Glad it worked for you. My shifter keep working a few months, but later the same issue appeared again, and i bought a new one. But at last you can improve your gear's live span.

I fixed mine, it has now worked flawlessy for months, my problem was wthe plug
It's a design fault, if you open it up you will find a plug on it that moves with the stick, it's located at the back of the stick, take the plug off, and i used a slither of plastic cut off a coke bottle, to slide between the plug and the plug housing, this tightens the connection, hold the plastic slither in place and force the plug/connector back in

Yep, i think this shifters aren't of the best quality. I had a g27, and had no problems in years and years of hard use. And with the g29, with little use i already broke one...

I am with the same problem. I am so happy to find your post here. Fortunately mine is still under warranty. But it's very nice to know that because this could happen again. Thanks a lot!
