Could be a bug, might be downshifting too fast. I love the added realism but it definitely needs a look see by the developers to make sure its working properly.
and when coming down the gears dont slam them down engine willover rev and blow on you
totally wierd
I would usually follow the HUD indicator and speedo, that turns red at (what I assume to be) the optimal time to change up. I did that throughout my 200+ hours with project cars 1, without an issue.
Doing that here, especially with the ginetta cars I have driven so far, a ended up with either blown engine, or enine badly damaged. Because the oh so nice and helpful engineer back in the pit gives me a warning the engine is about to blow around 3 seconds before it blows, so it goes no matter what you do. I even had the stupid doofus still be halfway through telling me to come in because the engine is about to blow, and he still kept talking after it blew.
It's nice to have this kind of thing in the game, because no matter how hard I seemed to push cars in the first game I never even got a warning about engine temps, let alone blown the engine completely.
But it need tweaking a bit, at least for some of the cars anyway.
