I had to watch and rewatch the replay. I couldn't figure out why it would even do it. It was in a faster car, on a downhill straight, with room to overtake. I also had similar things like OP mentions happen on every other race I tried. I refunded. The FFB wasn't good and the AI is dreadful. It's just too pricy a title to gamble with when I have otherr racers that do it better right now.
I am actually downloading it now! and all I play is single player. I should have known from YT videos the AI didn't look too good but thought is was due to the game being beta.
Oh well, I can't refund due to me purchasing through CDkeys..Well it didn't cost as much had I purchased here on Steam. I also really got it for the VR(Oculus) so I guess it's a positive just for that since there are so few racing games on VR.
Nürburgring corner 1 = crash fest
The AI is really bad and doesn't pose a real challenge.
Opponent skill level: 120%
Opponent Aggression: 100%
They need to fix this urgently!
It's game breaking!
The whole carrier mode is a joke!
I was playing with my gamepad and didn't even try!
The AI is varies A LOT from track to track. Those maxed out settings won't work for most of the tracks. Once you get a nice skill level percentage at one track, it will be out of whack for another, it's completely inconsistent (from what I've read in many reviews). They should really have the ability to adjust the AI on a track by track basis. Papyrus had this with their racing games decades ago and was very useful!
Yes they need to have a setting for the AI for each track and adjust it.
I find in PC1 that I can comfortably do a decent race against the AI around Oulton and Snetterton at 80% but then they blow me away in Silverstone at the same AI setting. Its frustrating.
I dont know why they cant level out the AI it would only take a months worth of testing with someone driving the same car against the AI trying all the tracks in sequence and adjusting the AI until it runs the same on each track.
Or just run several AI races take the average lap times and compare with real race times and adjust that must be very easy to do.
