FFB, Assetto Corsa vs PCars2
Bought PCars2 yesterday. I'm a bit disappointed. But it might be my fault. Not bashing pcars2 or anything.

The main reason is that imo the FFB doesn't translate the behaviour of the car very well. It feels off....or artificial.. dunno how to explain it. I feel oversteer and understeer, but it's completely different from assetto. In assetto I feel the connection with what I see on the screen and the feeling of the steeringwheel. It could be the fact that I'm so used to Assetto Corsa that I don't do well in PCars2.

I've used the RAW and the Jack spade FFB settings. But when it comes to translating the cars behaviour to the wheel, it doesn't come close to driving experience in Assetto.

My question for those who have both games: Is it a matter of getting used to it? Or Is it possible to get a similar feel of FFB with pcars2 by changing some ffb settings?

I have tried a long time and now found a setting which I find really good and I am one of the AC FFB lovers!
For my wheel „TM TS PC Racer“ was important to set the Flavour to „Raw“, the Tone to 31 % and the Menu Spring to „0“!

Thanks, i'll give it a try.
The ffb can be so vague in pcars. Absolutely zero feel for front end grip.

Raceroom has by far the best ffb in my opinion.

Ian bell just does his usual when mentioned on their forums..... spouts meta critic scores (lol wat) and says pcars is the best
I believe there is some .ini file tinkering tweaks you can try.

Not so sure anymore I used to have raceroom as one of my favorites for FFB but I had a try the other day to test the latest raceroom update.
Honestly, its pretty dead for me now. PC2 with my setup is much better now then raceroom.
Only Automobilista stays on top for FFB now
AMS ? LOL.- i found an old GTR2 installation from 2007 on my disk. With realfeel plugin. Feels just the same. Thats not bad, but feels like Raceroom 2 me, real old stuff.

denPes should tell which wheel he uses. One advice: If T300 or better, dont use JS Files.
AMS has more feel then both raceroom and AC. The only way to have more feeling in those two is with the added fake effects which I always turn off. Yeah I know AMS has the option for fake effects too but,, turn them off.

Not always, but I do agree with this post:

On that note, I find PC2 ffb (with jack spade tweaked files) to be fantastic.

With my TM TX wheel, I use Jack Spade standard mid compressor
Gain: 100, Vol:45-50, Tone:35, FX: 15

With my Fanatec Porsche 911 GT2 RS V2 Wheel and jackspade standard mid compression
every car changes my FFB experience... from worst and boring to good.

I think its the devs fault, some cars are just not optimised for good ffb... or maybe
i should skip jackspade settings.

At the moment i would say Pcars1 and AC got better FFB as Pcars2,
jackspade said in the forum, that he cant improve the ffb anymore cause
of the missing individual ffb settings for each car.

I've just read that post You linked. And another post in that thread describes more or less what I have with the ffb in pcars2, and what i wrote in my startingpost.:

I find it difficult to describe, it just doesn't feel as "connected" in PC2 as other sims. I don't feel like the wheel is as connected to the wheels of the ingame car, if that makes sense? Like the wheel isn't connected to anything inside the car. I have noticed that the feedback in each car is very different however, very unique, it just feels "off".

Now, I can't judge wether I am right or wrong, since I don't have any real life experience in racing. I didn't present it as a fact that the FFB in pcars2 isn't good. It's really my opinion at the moment. It could very well be that I have to put in far more hours to get the hang of it.

Meanwhile I've been able to change the FFB a bit more to fit my wheel (logitech dfgt). And It's okay. Saving up for a better wheel anyway.

I wasn't saying you are right or wrong, fwiw, hence only quoting the relevant portion what I was replying to ;) It took me quite some time to feel connected in PC2, including tweak files, but now I do feel connected, I'm addicted ;)
I wonder lack of connection you feel is because PC2 simulates tyres better so theres that slight sort of slow moment as the tyres flex and bite when you steer. Other sims, AC included seem to simulate the suspension roll and weight transfer really well, but the tyres seem simmed as hard objects.

I wondered about that too. Could be, I do notice a similarity with rf2 ffb and pcar2

Yes that also might be the case. I've read many times that the simulation of tyres is not the best in AC, but i can't confirm this, since I'm no expert on that. I''ll just have to spend some more time in pcars2 to get more used to it.
