Even relatively slow cars were not easy to steer for me using the X-Box one controller..
V8's like to fishtail under hard acceleration,so i just shift up to counter it,i had a wheel/pedals etc but took up too much space
GT3 cars are some of the easiest to drive with controller, it may be down to your config, what's your controller settings?
Yeah I learn that the hard way after coming dead last in a online GT3 qualifying. Even after many flawless laps I was still 2 second slower than the rest of the pack.
I can also confirm that wheel users can go around long sweeper corners (Such as Road America's 7th corner) much faster than any pad players.
Offline is okay. I just had turn the A.I. difficulty down to around 20 - 50 for a fair race.

I intentionally left the speed sensitivity down as it help me in the slow corners
