They also recommend a GTX 1080 or the RX480. They are not comparable. The RX480 is never as good as the GTX 1080.
It runs on PS4 and XBox so these specs cannot be real. You get the PS4 Pro for 350€ and the new XBox X will cost 500€ so it would be cheaper to buy one of the consoles.
Maybe they just want the people to upgrade their PCs because they recommend the most expensive hardware and recommend the most expensive graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD.
At the moment I do not know what to do. I preordered it but I canceled it because my specs are only minimum and above (i5 4690, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060) and I am afraid that it might look and run badly.
I hope that the specs will change.
I will not buy it if they do not change the specs and I will geht Forza 7 instead because the recommended specs of Forza 7 are much lower than these specs and Forza 7 looks even better.
Windows 10 (+ specific versions of 7)
3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 3450, 4.0 GHz AMD FX-8350
8 GB RAM
GTX680 or equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
I want to run it with 60FPS and I do not want to look it crappy.
My processor (i5 4690) is the minimum and it seems that the game needs a powerfull CPU.
So I am afraid that it might not look and run that good on my system.
I can run Project Cars 1 with high settings but the specs of Project Cars 1 are lower.
The developers said that they improved their engine and I thought that the specs will be lower then.
The graphics hardly look any better than the first game (and pale compared to Forza 7) so i can't imagine those recommednded specs are for 1080p. No other game has needed specs close to those so it must be for 4k.
If these requirements are real then it is supposed to be a good thing assuming it matches the graphic quality.
I would expect PC graphics to be out of this world
I only want to play in 1080p so I do not care about 4k or even 12k.
The minimum specs are also very high but what does minimum mean?
Does it mean that I can run the game on lowest settings with 60FPS or does it mean that the minimum hardware is needed to play it in 1080p with mid to high settings, 1080p and 60FPS?
The system specs of Project cars 2 are the most confusing specs ever.
A Demo would be nice so that we could test the game but I know that they will not realease a Demo.
The GTX 680 is garbage now.
I have a cheap budget mid range GTX 1060 I paid $170 for and it literally wrecks the 680 so hard it makes the 680 look like a joke.
The recommended specs are for 4K its the new standard now.
The GTX 680 is bad, you are right but it looks like the game needs rather a powerfull CPU than a powerfull graphics card.
Nothing high about these requirements they are on par for next gen, the Xbox Scorpio is next gen. They are building this game for Xbox Scorpio and PS4 pro in mind so automatically the PC requirements go up it is as simple as that.
The CPU requirements are all lies in every single game being released, don't worry about those. An i3 will run this at max settings for example my i3 runs everything at Ultra at 60 fps the same games whose recommended claims to be an i7.
I have played many games where min is i5 and I get atleast 100 fps with my i3. But I use vsync to lock it to 60 cause i hate screen tearing
Why do people still continue to believe the lies of the i5 as min requirement?
A Pentium still runs majority of these games that claim to need an i5 aswell
A current gen Intel Celeron is way more powerful than the xbox scorpio CPU just so you know, the PC is the master race for a reason.
I really appreciate the system requirements of Forza 7 because they wrote what you need for each setting:
Minimum Requirements - 720p/30fps
1st generation Intel Core i5-750 or AMD FX-6300 CPU
8GB of ram
nVidia GT 740 / GTX 650 or AMD R7 250X graphics
2GB of Vram
Recommended Requirements - 1080p/60fps
4th generation Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD FX-8350 CPU
8GB of ram
nVidia GTX 670 / GTX 1050 Ti or AMD RX 560 graphics
4GB of Vram
Enthusiast Requirements - 4K/60fps Ultra Settings
6th generation Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen R7 CPU
16GB of ram
nVidia GTX 1080 or AMD RX Vega 64 graphics
8GB of Vram
With these specs you know exactly what you can expect.
It would be great if SMS would release system specs like this.
