Suggestion : Teleporter can't go through shields.
I feel that a slight nerf to teleporters would really help improve the depth of the game, and i believe it is something everyone would like, and i think it would be very, very easy to program.

Suggestion : Teleport cannot teleport anyone or anything if the enemy shields are up.

Balance ---------------
I feel this would take the 'edge' of the instant-teleportation-meta, without harming it too much, as shields are fairly easy to drop, esp with anti-shield weaponry.

It would also feel like the teleportation enemy at least 'earned' the ability to board the ship.

It would not cause players to have to rebuild or reconfigure their AI or ship layout or set-up.

It would make non-teleportation-focused ships feel like they stand more of a chance.

Programming --------------------
Programming wise it would seem to be as simple as adding the code '' If enemy shield is > 0 hp, cannot teleport ''.
It would require only a minor addition of one User Interface Icon showing a shield with a 'stop' sign above it on the teleporter room, showing that the shield is blocking the teleport use.
A minor adjustment to the description of the teleport would suffice to inform people.

The teleporter could still be max-charged, but it would be on 'stand-by' for instant teleportation until the enemy shield reaches 0.

It would require minimal bug-testing, as it is a very specific change with little to no knock-on effects.
This is because it would be a change to the room itself, not any connected parts such as crew members.

I hope the Dev's see this post and seriously consider implementing this improvement.

Very good idea. By the way, when I arrived in the game, I intuitively thought that teleportation was not possible through an energy shield (probably because of stargate SG1). Actually, I thought that teleportation could only be done in another teleportation room ...

Afterwards, I must say that I think I have found the solution. I send emp missiles at the teleporter and focus all my weapons on them. This way, the enemy crew members awaiting teleportation are killed. There is always at least one enemy that has time to teleport before my first EMP hits the target. So I position my 2 security rooms strategically (towards the reactors). By doing this, I am able to really catch the boarders. (for the moment)

But that doesn't prevent me from hating this boarding mechanism. This favors P2W too much. Those who pay, can buy the most powerful crews. Besides, I think the boarders are the main source of money for the game ... So I think there will never be a nerf, it's too juicy.

So here is my advice; Focus all your weapons on the teleporter, even before the shield. Configure one of your missile launchers to launch EMPs when the enemy teleporter is there. (one is enough, the other must be used to do damage to the crew). Place your security rooms well and normally you should be OK.

I'm having no problems killing boarders i'm just correctly adding more depth to the game.
I have one EMP missile launcher, that prioritising cloaking. then teleporter.

I found it easy enough to defeat boarders with properly set up AI on my drone-makers.
I have all 4, and don't use a teleporter myself, allowing my on-board drones to keep me alive in almost all my pvp fights. I have a k/d ratio of over 10 to 1, and i'm a fan of attacking ships that are 'even' or 'higher'.

I paid real money, but not for crew. My crew might be weaker but it's my drones that do all the work anyway.

I paid real money for that sweet sweet turkey fighter launcher, and the AI drone rooms.

Just got the halloween ghost room, very happy with their freeze ability.
