Keep in mind pc/steam has been around for almost a year. I was mostly referring to long time players, so pre-steam. But yeah if you “only” play on steam yeah you will be at a disadvantage, since you can’t watch ads. But most players, like me play on both, since the boost gauge is only on steam. Plus there are the hot keys and a few more interesting key commands on steam that helps in a few pvp battles.
Tbh i like the core gameplay of the game but its economic model that rely on ads or direct in game transaction for game changers items ruins it, especially since it's meant to be competitive.
Since it's backed it should be free for backers, but i would not mind to pay 10-15 euros to get it on steam, eventually skins and visuals in game can bring some more money to the game as well, but right now it's economic model it not clean regarding balancing between players. I guess same goes for the app on store, putting it at 10-15 euros would remove the need of an ads system ...
I agree. The economic model of the game needs some more work. Tho the devs keep on reminding us that the game is still in beta and more economic support is on its way. But we shall see.
This.
The game has events that give you stuff that can count as in game currency but the fact is that the longer a player is in the game the more powerful they are.
The other day I had multiple level 12 people from HYDRA attacking my level 8 ship with their maxed out crew. As I advance up the top get more powerful - the divide will always be there. Money literally gives you advantages in this game with modules and options you cannot get freely (and the free things are given more or less to all, so as you earn 'free things' others keep pace with you if they are playing.)
I would argue this game is solely play to win at this point, Just like world of tanks.
Don't try to be the best, Unless you spend astronomical sums of money, first to catch up with the end game, and then to spend as much as the first in bonuses of all kinds. And even then, you won't be top 100 yet.
So the competitive spirit is the last thing to have in this kind of game. Unless you have too much money ...
